Top 6.

They suffered one of the biggest injury tolls last year yet still managed to finish 4th. I expect the injury toll to be a little kinder and without any major losses they should be fine. In fact, these guys should be favourites for the minor premiership but the lack of a recognised fullback unfortunately for their sake puts them back in the pack to a degree.

Talented side who can score points against any side and can beat any side on their day it will be interesting to see how they go. If I was a fan, anything less than a prelim would be a travesty and I would be pissed off.

Good post. Anything less than top four and a prelim and ill be very unhappy.

Well apparently they have bought one of the best forwards in the game, they have the best attacking player in the game, they have two of the best young centres in the game and a very good hooker. Apparently Kieth Galloway is a gun prop and they have second rowers who can all play coming out their yin yangs. Must be top four surely. Oh, forgot to mention the Australian coach as well.

The tigers are genuinely a team that realistically can finish anywhere between 1st and 16th..yes I realise that sounds stupid, but hear me out..Moreso than any other team, the tigers rely on two players to get them over the line. Since 05, the Tigers have been the Farah and Marshall show. If one goes down, they go from top 4 to mid table. If both go down they go from mid table to wooden spoon. That's the tigers...Ironically, only they and the Cowboys (Thurston and Bowen) are in this boat....

As such, the Tigers and the Cowboys are the hardest of teams to predict.

Having said that, I think that the Tigers may have sacrificed some much needed depth and team unity, in order to get Adam Blair. That could be the buy of the season, or alternatively, the dud...

Notwithstanding that all....assuming no catastrophe befalls them, and they suffer the same luck as everyone else.....They're a 5-8 team. On his day, Blair is as influential a forward as Gallen or Burgess. And the parramatta pair of Reddy and Humble are good purchases who'll fit in with the tigers...

Top4 and grand final at least every team will depend on injuries and the tigers are no different in a comp with a salary cap if you take out your top 2 players thats a quarter of your value most times and if a team started with a salary cap 1million lower then everyone else they'd be no chance

If every side was injury free tigers are the best team in the comp up with manly for mine

what a ridiculous post, of course we rely on our top two play makers but take them out of any side and they wont make the 8.

broncos - wallace/hoffman
dogs -ennis/hodkinson
raiders -campese/dugan
cowboys - thurston/bowen
titans - prince/bird
sea eagles - cherry-evans/ballin
storm - cronk/smith
knights - boyd/mullen
eels -hayne/sandow
panthers -walsh/kingston
sharks -carney/de gois
rabbits -luke/whoever
dragons -hornby/soward
roosters - pearce/friend
warriors - maloney/johnson
tigers -marshall/farah

the only team who could possibly still make the 8 after losing the above would be manly with the storm and knights an outside chance.

Top 8 hopefully.

A little more confident than in previous seasons of making the fnals because of the better balance the team has, reff interpretations should hold less sway over our fortunes as we are capable of doing the hard yards. I am just not sure our halves will trust the squad to do it though.

Would love to see Humble or Reddy given a fair shot at the fullback jersey

without the "ref interpretations" last year you wouldnt have made the 8. I know this, i watched every one of your games closely in those last 8 weeks because i hate the Tigers with a passion.

You want the truth? I don't think Tigers fans can handle the truth.

As usual, anywhere between 4th-10th. I'm leaning towards 6th or 7th.

They're just making up the numbers, don't have it in them to compete with the big boys at the business end of the season and will never re-produce the fluke that was 2005.

Heavily rely on favourable referee decisions to win most of their games...but that can only take you so far, refer Tigers vs Warriors Final at the SFS 2011.

This always makes me chuckle.

I didn't say play maker...I said player....it's about the dominance of those players over their teams fortunes......moreover, you need to learn to read better....I was referring to teams that could finishe between first and last......there are only a handful of teams that can finish first, and there are only a handful of teams that could finish last....all I'm saying is that the cowboys and the tigers can WIN the comp with their two stars there, and get the WOODEN SPOON if they lose the two players.......

But hey, you've had your rant...

I've always had the impression that the Tigers pack were pretty soft.

As much as I dislike Blair, he's exactly what Tigers needed. I don't buy into that crap about their losses effecting them; Gibbs is a solid player, but hardly irreplaceable. Fifita? Please. From all reports, it seems he has bit of an attitude problem as well.

Benji needs to learn to kick as well.

The no1 and no7 could hold the key. Really most standout teams have a world class 7 and a world class 1. At this stage we do not know who and how they will go in these two crucial positions. I think they will be up near the top at the right end of the season, but they are a confidence team so anything can happen if the wheels start to fall off. One things for certain they have to learn to win 3 games a month rather than rely on a end of season streak as they have in the past. Barring maybe two teams every team is capable of finishing anywhere between 16 and 1, the cap is got the comp that close

I think the #7 will always be an issue for Wests while Marshall is there. In 2005 Farah & Marshall would be on no where near what they are now, so they able to have a talented 7 in Prince. I very much doubt they'll be able to afford one now. Wests next premiership will have to be a result of a junior/unknown really stepping up.

Disappointed if they don't make the Grand Final. In 2010, it was excusable but not last year. I think that last year will help them a lot and hopefully they don't get too cocky when leading.

Jacob Miller looked good in his time last year. He can fill the void.

Yeh good post Ive often thought this too.

I think Lui was beginning to learn how to play with benji....but how does a young guy learn to play with someone who most of the time does things off the cuff?
Takes time.
Reports today Moltzen will start in 7.....I was hoping for Jacob Miller who imo looks promising.
