Howard v Latham - Who's number one?

Number one fans

Not content to challenge John Howard for the Lodge later this year, the Opposition Leader, Mark Latham, has said he also wants the PM's other highly coveted position.
"A lot of people think I'm runnning to be Prime Minister, but obviously it's about being the number one ticket holder of St George Illawarra," Mr Latham told the Illawarra Mercury this week.
"If I can beat him in the election, being the number one ticket holder will be very special."
Both party leaders are lifelong Dragons fans but, sadly for Mr Latham, this is one honour that's not democratic.
"Definitely not," said Peter Doust, the Dragons' chief executive officer, when Spike asked him if the jersey came with the role of PM.
"John Howard's been our number one ticket holder since before he was PM, since the 1980's," he said. "You don't have to be Prime Minister to hold the jersey and we wouldn't change John Howard's position as number one supporter unless he wanted us to. We might have to contemplate having two jerseys - number 1A and number 1B."

Do the Dragons have the most powerful fans in the league?

Yeah, I've seen Little Johnny on the Hill at Kogarah plenty of times...

Have I seen pictures of him on the news, in Bumphuque, Idaho, on his early morning power walk in a Saints tracksuit??

Give the #1 ticket to someone who cares about the club, an average fan, not a celebrity one.

Cheers,
Ben S.

At Jubilee, I used sit on the grass just north of the stand and John Hewson favoured the same area. It wasnt long after he lost the Lib leadership so I always thought he was probably OK. I mean, he just liked going to the footy and supporting St George.

Latham was almost going to Kogarah this Sunday btw but I heard yesterday that's not the case anymore.

I've never seen Howard at Kogarah. Has anyone?

Yes. He was there for the first and (so far) only semi final match to be played at Kogarah - against the Dogs in 98. They erected a special marquee/stand for him, but he was there, I saw him.

A special Marquee? Were you invited in for drinks? ;-)
To think, John Hewson only just missed out on that Marquee.

If I had a rifle on me that day, I would probably have been aiming it in the direction of Steve Clark. He produced an 'unfortunate' performance.

Oh, that's right - the day that a "bucket of spit" was tipped on him & his car was chased to the airport...

Why is it that every time we play C*nterbury in a semi & get stooged by a referees call, they either make the Grand Final or win the bloody thing - just like 1995 (the shepher "try")??

Greeneyed - is Ros Kelly still your #1 ticket holder??

Cheers,
Ben S.

Howard will kick the fat man boob's arse when the real time comes.

Howard is a champion, the best economic manager this country's ever seen, if Manboob Latham got into power, we'd see a whole lot of spending with no discernible benefit to the pulbic and another typically hugh "labor" style budget deficit.

Leave the labor scum in opposition, their too easy to take the piss out of, when Latham's honeymoon period is over in a couple of months and he is slaughtered at the polls, who are labor going to dig up again this time what are the alternatives Beazley, Crean or Rudd lol!!!!!

Howard is an arse licker...the only reason he won the last election was because he appealed the bigotted streak that still runs through his country. He hijacked the last election by throwing out the window real problems affecting our country like the healthcare system and education by making a big deal about couple of boat loads of refugeess entering the country. but this was the same man more than happy to send our men and women to war under the auspice of bringing the people of Iraq their freedom, this is the same guy that "liberated" Afaganistan but refused months earlier their displaced women and children to enter the country as refugees.

Dread the thought Ben, but its a sign of a 'community' springing up.
I'm stockpiling the Vanilla Slices in ready for the onslaught. ;-)

If the Dragons have the most powerfull fans then why did they submit to merging???

The most powerfull Fans are Souths Fans more celebrity fans than the red carpet at the oscars and the most true and loyal fans in the history of any sport.
