Got a source for that STEVE R because my mail has been he was 99% done at the Sharks.

Yeah mate, WIN news (Wollongong TV) tonight. Had an interview with Gorrell and he said he's looking forward to it. Said something about travelling while he's still young and setting himself up for the future.

Apparently the deal is to be completed tonight.

Same here.

Wonder how much we still have left to spend. What are people's thoughts about Seymour at hooker?

The shire has beaches.

I didn't think much of him as a half, Inferno. Apparently he is a 5/8 but I have never even seen him in that role.

Guess we find out more in the trials.

New to hand.

I have extreme doubts on this Gorrell to Les Catalans story.

It hasn't been mentioned anywhere, not even on the Catalans website which actually says it's quota is full with the signings of Mogg, Greenshields and Maguire.

Is Gorrell a French citizen or something?

Further to the WIN news story last night, the late edition stated that "Ricky Stuart's Sharks" are still interested in signing Gorrell, but the Catalans deal "should be approved by the board tonight."

2 year deal, with an option for a 3rd.

French door opens for unwanted Gorrell
By BRAD WALTER

DRAGONS hooker Aaron Gorrell has rejected an offer from Cronulla to sign with French club Catalans and he may be joined in the Super League next season by Parramatta prop Michael Vella.

Gorrell, who this year played 26 games for St George Illawarra but was off-contract, has agreed to a three-year deal with the club coached by ex-Dragons assistant Mick Potter.

The Perpignan-based club, which finished last in its first season in Super League but is safeguarded from relegation until 2009, has also recruited Dragons fullback Clint Greenshields, Canberra representative duo Adam Mogg and Jason Croker, and Brisbane's former Queensland utility Casey McGuire to a bolster a side headed by Stacey Jones.

"In the end, Aaron had a number of options but he has decided to go to France," Gorrell's agent David Riolo said. "It's a fresh start for him."

A member of the 1999 and 2000 Junior Kangaroos, Gorrell did not play NRL until two years later and made just 22 appearances before this season.

Signed to an incentive-based contract last off-season, Gorrell was one of the leading tacklers in the NRL this year, and scored six tries and kicked 56 goals, including a sideline conversion after full-time to snatch a win over the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium.
