I think the coaching staff have blundered with signing of Mortimer. They are in a hard spot now, they need to save face by keeping him in the team.

I remember Joey Johns saying he never saw much to mortimers game in the Juniors but that hewas surprised what he had done last year.

I would have dropped Mortimer to the 14 or reserves and played KK at halfback and Humble at 5/8.

2 bad signings in 2 years. First MK last year and now DM this year

If we don't get Cronk we are in for a long year again next year imo........

How many chances will Mortimer get ? I don't like Robson but I am starting to think even he is better than Mortimer !! KK to 7 and Humble to 6 for me. Mortimer can be 14 or in wenty if the coach gives Mitchell a chance .

Statements by Ossie saying how mortimer would never leave because of money didnt help.

Mind you, KK has been equally disappointing.......

Totally agree about Morts. He was re-signed on hype.

Great support player, but how many players has he put into gaps this season (or last for that matter) and how many tries has he set up??

I don't think KK has been 'equally' disappointing. First of all he had to make the starting side after coming back from injury. And I remember him 'doing' more things than Mortimer on the field . With the way Mortimer is playing he would have been dropped or benched a long time back but I suspect the coach does not want to show he made a bad call ! Hence we r stuck with him. He hasn't shown ANYTHING in regards to his so called halfback qualities we still long for his 'hidden' talent !!

It's a tricky situation with Morts because the fear of losing him then going to the Dogs and ripping up and then the story of how we would have lost another gun junior I dunno.

I wont to know where all those peanuts are that came out firing whenever anybody had the nerve to say a negative word about morts game.

Kk has offered alot more this year than morts has. Reason people are attacking kk is because his name isnt league royalty. At least kk has the balls to actually try something as where that rookie who couldnt stop talking to the media has had the golden run.

I think too many supporters read the papers about the hype of the kid. He is rubbish & i was praying he left for the dogs. To be honest i will be suprised if he aint released next year if he produces rubbish again.

I would prefer humble anyway. Piss morts off i have no time for him whatsoever

the coach isnt the only one.

as a whole, we well and truly went out of our way to 'court' the entire Mortimer clan to keep Daniel at the club.

Still, he is just a kid in his first full year so we shouldnt be too hard on him. I just hope the dollars that were bandied around have incentives built in....
