Humble to start, KK to bench

He still isnt ready for first grade. Although we signed him for more then he is worth and is probably not the ideal candidate for our first choice halfback, he still has alot of development left in his game. It is very possible that this will be the highest contract he ever earns and its possible that in 2 years time he will be worth it.

Id still like to see how Humble would go at halfback. I think he would be Trent Barrett style.

He'll pull a rabbit out of his hat this week to get us back on track. The problem is that we have both he and KK together and no experience. They both have potential. Come on morts, i have faith son!

YOu know the problem fish eel most of us have with him. He talks like he is a superstar. He has done nothing in the game & should act accordingly

no doubt, he was our media go to man earlier in the year.

seems to have quietened down though

KK is awesome. He leads the team around the park like an old pro. The eels always look very dangerous in attack with him orchestrating the plays.

And neither does Humble, yet people seem to think he is the one who can get us out of this mess.

IMO, the one who can get us more points is Mateo at five eight.

i made that call in another thread.

Let Mortz or KK be the 6 that they should be.

Yes, we are trying to manufacture another 6 to become a 7 but for some reason, Humble seems to have more direction than either KK and Mortz.

One thing I don't understand, it was mentioned that DA said the max for a winger is $120K.

Well for a 1year halfback it is $2XX K?

KK is definately going a bit better than Mortimer at this stage but I reckon its KK's "no thought" kick and chase for himself when no one else has a clue, that is what is annoying the coach. Well I hope so any way cause its annoying the hell out of me!
Here's an idea......
Why dont they play Moi Moi at 5/8? Maybe the team could use a suprise tactic and play Moi Moi at 5/8 from a scrum with a Parramatta feed? I dont think any team would be a wake up to that ploy.
You never know it might work if it wasnt used on EVERY damn Parramatta scrum feed.
Am starting to think the "off load" and Haynes occasional brilliance is the only attacking weapon this Parramatta team has.

Our best combo is Keating half and Mateo 5/8

Keating can lead the side around the field but lacks a little bit of skill that Mateo has. Keating is not scared to take control. I haven't seen Mortimer take charge at all which on top of his lack of skill ( cut out passes etc) is not helping him at all.

Mateo is wasted at lock. He is a natural ball player, so why not use tthose skillls. Horo can play his role as wide running back rower - plus it looks like he has some ball skills.

I think teams have found his weakness too, get up in his face and get him to make mistakes, he needs to keep changing his game up so he isn't such as easy target, I can see why we signed him as halves are much harder to come by than say wingers.

We haven't had a half that was great at leading the team around for awile now.

And Mortimer is future rep player at hooker.

He reminds me of Issac Luke ( who I believe was a half back but just lacked to skills for that position).

Mortimer can;
tackle very very good for someone of his size
has a handy kicking game
can pass pretty good ( just isn't a ball player)
is as tough as they come
is very quick - look at the runs he makes, they are the type of runs a hooker makes. Ears back, as fast as you can into a very small gap without any fear of being smashed. This is what is needed as a hooker.

All the skills for a great hooker. Mortimer just lacks a little in the skill department for half, but would make one hell of a hooker.

overall he has a better game then Issac, as he can tackle and kick better.

Anyhow that is my opinion

Don't wish that on anyone, Ivor, even in jest....

I`m not really wishing it on him. I always thought there was going to be a problem with Mortimer, Keating, Humble, M. Keating and Robson all vying for 2 positions; and I always thought that injuries would probably solve the selection problem for the coach. Ironically, after 15 rounds of the competition, that hasn`t happened yet. And, apparently, my parents came within a hair`s breadth of naming me Ivor - but I guess my mother had the final say.

I`ve been waiting for Mortimer to get injured. Seems he won`t even do that for us.
