Cheers Madsharkie. BBQ = Maloney rings a bell. Only from here, totally missed that story. Humphrey, Squiggle... Seen a few SharkCasts but from later in the year. I remember Whippet, Waltzing, Sparkles, Panda, Sludge, etc.. but obviously not so strong on 'forum' nicknames.

Reefy calls Val Humphrey for some reason. I'm guessing you mightn't have listened to some of the earlier Shark Casts? Not sure about the Squiggle reference, but pretty sure you can blame Frenz for that one.

Its only a play off Humphrey, Australian kids show (when us old buggers were kids). I remember Bird having a shocker with his hands one game and i thought he looked like a puppet, Mr Squiggle he became.
I have no idea how Reef came up with Humphrey.

Apparently it started last year when some bloke who was bemused at the fan boy hype, texted somebody after said player fell over the line for 2 trys All the work had been done by the edge forward & Gerard Beal, yet said player, was announced as the messiah.
Text stated the obvious in that "Humphrey Bear could have scored those trys"

I can't believe the static these two blokes get on the forum.
Young, super talented, and just very very good footballers the both of them.

Coming from a club that persisted with Colin Best v iii, Ben Pomeroy, Isaac Gordon, Misi Talaupapa, Nathan Gardner, Nathan Stapleton, John Williams, Matthew Wright and others in the outside backs it blows the mind.

I think there was a backlash with these two as many seen them getting the hi light raps whilst the real toilers like Gallen and Fifita were getting bagged
I think it's fair to say they were overhyped
Good players with lots of promise but overhyped at the time

Is it a common supplement shaggs? I'm sure I've seen the name on some protein powder or maybe it was on some recovery stuff with BCAA's

Yeah mate it's very common. anyone who trains a lot should be using it for muscle recovery and immune health.

Most bcaa blends don't have it, they contain leucine, isoleucine and valine.

Glutamine is cheap and availavle everywhere. 5-10g per day for an 80kg guy who trains every day.

Ha.ha! I thought it was because Humphrey B Bear never talked and Holmes allegedly doesnt talk on the field. Good nickname whatever the reason! Everybody Loved Humphrey bear so its Term of endearment I'm Sure!
