Hurrell Gone?

I don't think he's been rubbish. He's had bad moments. And he's had bad games. But I spent much of last year bemused at why he was running around in the NSW cup behind Kata and thought he looked pretty good in FG, all things considered.

Yep, fair enough - certainly imo he offered more than Kata - I do get bemused by the focus on the upside of Hurrell, Kata, Fustua etc - at the end of the day the upside is they are all explosive ball runners... relatively low on skill and poor defenders...

After last week if he wasn't going to bring Hurrell back I'd have put one of Allwood or Wright in, if they're fit - in fact, Allwood has been reasonable every time I have seen him, and Wright's plod, but he's consistent

Hurrell lost me big time when he came back from pre-season completely out of shape last year.
There is no excuse for that crap.

I actually think players like Konnie do owe the club, they discovered him and coached him into what he is today, and I'd expect him to show a bit of loyalty in return.

I dont really know what all the noise is from Surfers and Brisbane, but until Doyle and Konnie himself say he's going,, he is still a Warrior who is set on playing FG.

I'm sure he had a choice in what club/team he wanted to go with, doubt the Warriors were his only option to becoming either a professional League or Union player. And evidently they haven't really coached him anything, same great athlete/ball runner, nothing else added since 2012.

i think this is all being blown out of proportion. im thinking cappy has told kata and ayshford you have first crack and konnie is ready should 1 of them not be up to it

i think the same thing has happened with mateo at manly
hes started in reserve grade but is ready when the othe 2 second rowers slip up

Just wondering if anyone has any info on if you guys are releasing Hurrell or not ? Plenty of noise around to say that Warriors will.

We hear that he will come to the Titans , however we know that he is really close to his family and may not want to leave. Additionally we also know that his Manager is good a trying to get him in First grade as well.

I hope he stays with you guys and becomes a one club player but if he comes to us he will go along way to getting more Xpat bums on seats at Titans home games.

And actually now I want him to go, and I want to see how he goes in a side that is actually coached decently. It's laughable that the Titans have the same record as us. They compete every week with a very average squad, and no star quality in their spine, while we turn up when it suits us with a vaunted squad/spine.

There's no point him staying here. He was pretty unprofessional for years and now Ayshford/Kata are about our only decent players.

So yeah, genuinely good luck with him. You're already making a star of Paasi who we couldn't, it may well end up being another.
