I Am So Very Proud To Be A Knights Fan

First of all I would like to give a huge ovation to the 14 men who gave it their all against an improving Parramatta team at their home ground

When I sat down and watched Parramatta race out to a 14-0 lead early on I wasnt concerned as I knew Joey would get them out of it. Then all Knights fans worst nightmares came true as Joey did his knee in and may miss the season which is a huge blow for rugby league. As I saw the agony on his face, I had a little tear in my eye as I felt so sorry for Joey he has had the worst luck with injuries in the past 3 years and he doesnt deserve that, but then again no one does deserve to get injured. Down 14-6 at that stage and I had given up, no way could our boys do this but when they went in at half time trailing 22-16 i was starting to think maybe we can. When Seage crossed over I was gaining more confidence and I could tell the boys were 2 ..... But then Seage injures his knee and another tear came into my eye as a promising debut year 4 Seage has been cut short. Down to 15, then Tahu is limps off, now down 2 14. As I watched Lowrie on the bench all alone and the Knights fighting to the death against this team who is on the improvement, I thought no matter what the result is, I am sooooo proud of the boys tonite and even more I am sooo glad 2 be a Knights fan and I wouldnt change that for nething!!!! Knights hit the lead but unfortunately we couldnt hold on and Parra pipped us at the post but again we didnt quit as Parra had the ball on our line in the last 2 mins but we didnt throw in the towel because as the old saying goes Blue n Red Neva Dead and that will always be the case. At the end of the game I stood up and clapped for my team as I was so proud of them.

On Newcastle's Season I can see this as a positive! We have learnt that we can play some decent footy without Joey and the man who we can thank for that is Kurt Gidley! He has certainly stepped up.

I hope Joey, Seage and Timana all make a speedy recovery and best of luck.

I felt exactly the same following the game. For us to be playing with fourteen men and to come so close to snatching victory from a side who were playing pretty well in patches was a huge wrap for our determination.

The 'old' Newcastle would have given in when Joey left the field, but thanks to Buderus we really lifted. I really think he was the best player on the field, on either side. Losing Seage and Tahu should have pushed us over the edge as well- but we played with a lot of determination and class. It made me very proud to be a Newie fan. Moreso than usual, anyway.

I have to agree with you 110% on what you said.

I don't think I have ever felt so proud to be a Knights supporter. They did extremely well. The boys freaked, you could see it in their faces.

Nothing was worse than seeing Joey's face when he went down. I can't get it out of my head. It was right infront of me, nothing can express my feelings right about know.

I know the pain that he is in and I definately feel sorry for him.

All of the boys did us all proud. I stayed around after the game so I could thank them personally for their efforts, and I can tell you now, there weren't many happy faces in the Newcastle camp.

The worst face I saw was Tahu's. I think that his face summed up the thoughts and feelings of so many people at the game.

The boys will lift from this. They have to! We will be just as competitive as ever, we will prove to these non-believers that we can win without Johns.

No way I will be sticking by my team whether Joey is there or not! I have the confidence in them that they can still challenge for the top 4. I know the Knights fans will be still chanting NEWCASTLE, NEWCASTLE, they need us to pull them thru it and novocastrians are very loyal to their team.
I would never go 4 another team as long as i live, I have red n blue pumping thru my veins and thats the way its going to be 4eva

When an English King dies there is a traditional way of announcing it - They say 'The King is dead - long live the King' - meaning one is gone - now cheers to the next one.
So - Joey is gone - long live Kurt!!!!

I went to sleep last night hoping that I would wake up today and it would be game day...

Unfortunately I woke up, looked at my computer, thought hrmm no it was game day yesteday (I had one of the pictures I took last night as my desktop) and then I went and got the papers.. and that was it, I knew it wasn't a dream.

I had my phone around my neck on my knights chain and in my jersey, and everyone was looking at me like I was a freak and it looked like they were all expecting me to break down crying.

I think if this had happened last yr we would have been flogged... I have complete confidence in the Knights and will never give up... I think in the long run this will be good for us with no Joey as we can finally prove we can win without him.
I think they put in a great performnace last night to nealy win a team with 3 players leaving the feild(by the way didn't know about Tahu).
But congrats to out boys for a well fought out fight.

What people have to do is get to as many games as they can. The boys really need to see that their fans will stick with them through this. Especially the Roosters game. We need to open that new stadium with a bang!
