Agnew wrote a great article how 20/20 was meant to be propping up test cricket and paying for it. Instead it’s killing it. Great read.

haven't read the article but agree, for mine its infected the junior cricket set up, all kids want to be able to play T20 and to do that they basically have to forget everything thier club coaches tell them

I think I told everyone in the cricket thread ages ago how it was infesting its way into the junior set up.

when I worked at the shop customers used to tell me how everything is being geared to 20/20. One guys son an opener wasn’t picked in the QLD u17’s team even though he was the leading run scorer for the season.

the excuse is he was deemed to selfish and didn’t have enough shots lol. And not suitable for 20/20. Fair dinkum and we wonder why we don’t produce test batsman anymore??

Its just the way the world is now unfortunately.
