the Cam Green at 3 experiment isn't going too well

I get that the pitches in England and this one in WI are not roads but to play at 3 you have to have a solid defence and a good leave, he's only lasting an over or two if that

early days but needs to do better if we are going to persevere
His looked out of his depth.

I would say his 3 innings back he has looked as bad as Marcus Harris did and basically a walking wicket most deliveries.

No idea what's actually happened as he scores a shitload of runs at County cricket & Shield cricket.

His form leading in was solid scored 3 x 100s already this year for Gloucestershire & 2 in B2B games before the WTC final.

I think the worse ting we can do is drop him, we need to persevere and actually "coach" him. His form leading in was good but he was playing second division County cricket.

Even if Smudge comes back in for the Ashes it may be his last hurrah, so we need to stick with him, or another no 3 and not do what we did to McSweeney.

I think we are going to stick with the squad we have now up until after the ashes.

Smith will slot back in with Inglis the backup batter in the squad.

We have 3 players that performed ok in the last shield campaign in Sangha / Patterson / Weatherald..who need to continue to bat well during the next Shield series to replace Smith Uzi and either green or Webster..

Those tons v Gloucestershire are misleading to be honest, played in the 2nd division comp

So two steps down from test cricket

May as well practice in the nets against Starc and co..

Really missed a trick by not including Kurtis Patterson on this tour for mine
Has been scoring some good runs for Surrey in division 1, and a decent Shield season + been in the baggy green before. Deserved one more shot, considering guys like MMarsh, MHarris etc...got multiple recalls...

I wouldn't I have no clue how he got into the test team as an opener in the first place. He wasn't setting the world on fire.

he was the best Shield batsmen the previous season and deserved his spot and picked on form but he was not an opener, he bats in the middle order, he really was harshly treated

I think Patterson has missed the boat, he had a chance and the injury really set him back, he is 32 now

Big Sam really needs to work on his defense, he looks good with his head, hands and feet all in the right position, trouble is the bails are off by the time he gets everything in place.

The Windies saw how Bumrah had him in trouble with the ball coming into him and they have copied that to a tee

Which I don't get as apparently they WI don't even care about test cricket anymore and this could be the last test series over their, and we are almost losing to them..

Like who the heck is our high performance cricket coaches? We are going to get belted by England at the ashes this summer unless Smith comes back in and saves us...

gee Webster has been a good selection, runs and wickets since he was first selected, batted well this morning

the Windies slips fielders never gave their team a chance, bowlers bowled well but f**k me they dropped a lot of catches

Selected on the back of couple of years of solid Shield form , before that he was bucklies of playing test cricket

If Smith is good to go, I’d drop Green for the 2nd test. Won’t hurt him playing some Shield cricket before ashes starts..
