Watching the Australia v Pakistan ODI World Cup with the girls.

Almost every Australian player was singing the national anthem and most had smiles on there faces doing it.

Maybe it shows the mentality between males & females athletes

Rugby League especially at origin time there is lucky to be 5 players from both sides singing it and it pisses me off deluxe.

I didnt pay enough attention the other night but i reckon it would have been similar numbers.

I still remember every Monday at Primary & High School we had to sing the anthem at Assembly and it reminds you how proud you should be to be an Australian.

You just don't see the same passion for it enough in team sports these days when its being played.

Watching them bat and how lifeless the deck was , two things came to mind

We will be chasing well over 350 and secondly we have the artillery to run any total down on this deck

The gap is closing in between the two nations, I think its get closer when we lose Mooney, Healy and Perry, all in their twilight years now

I swear they keep saying the gap has been closing for the past 5 years but we keep winning and finding different ways with different individuals even when half the team plays badly or fail with the bat.

Voll & Litchfield should be entering there peaks in a couple of years time.

Throw in Sutherland whose already proving to be just as explosive all-rounder then Ellyse Perry was with just as much consistency.

Ash Gardner has taken her batting to another level.

The Keeper situation is probably going to be the main one.

Healy is basically the Adam Gilchrist of Women's cricket - hard to replace her fearlessness.

We have a truckload of spinners who have a good 5/6 years ahead of them King, Wareham, Gardner, Molineux

More like away length ball, in swinging length ball, away swinging length ball, then pitched up inswinger missing leg. Then suck up to the bowler. This setting up the batsman is pretty much what most park cricketers do, no big deal.

He's changed his tecnhique, he's standing well outside leg and stepping towards the ball and watching it well outside off. Problem is he did the same to every ball including the one that was given out when in reality, he didn't need to move at all to play that ball. His head is outside off stump when he gets hit on the pads.

He never used to do that, he mormally has no first movement, now his first movement is half a step to the off side regardless of where the ball is bowled. This is not the sign off a confident batsman.

His 60 on boxing day put India/Bumrah off just enough to get us away in a crucial match.

But he has done next to nothing else to suggest he is a teenage prodigy.

2 out of his 3 FCs 100s actually came in the same game 12 months ago in the early shield match.

You know what pisses me off about CA.

Just because the ODIs have sold out months ago because of India.

There has been SFA build up or Promotion in other states that they actually start this week and international cricket is back in Town.

I guess it reinforces how meaningless these games are.

But i reckon most wouldn't have a clue if there not going that the ODI's start this Sunday.

I couldn't get a ticket to the Sydney ODI for the following week back in June when they went on sale too busy trying to get Ashes tickets for our group but the ODI was already sold out in 2 days & tbh i completely lost track it was actually starting this week.

Because there hasn't much chatter about it.

Konstas is lucky to be being picking in Sheffield Shield right now. He has a lot of work to do on his batting. I sense a bit of a Matt Renshaw situation.
He may decide he is better off just going the T20 route and making as much money as possible with the french cricket shots.
