I have a sickening feeling in my stomach

I HOPE I AM WRONG

I have this nasty intuitive (no information to support this)feeling that the Knights MisManagement will announce next week that their "strike outside back" signing will be CHRIS WALKER!!!!!!!

If this eventuates I will not be renewing my Season Ticket nor by club membership.

This is one thing that I genuiely want to be wrong about.

Lets see what happens?

(Think about it- Harragon has declared that he is looking to sign a high profile outside back- can any of you think of any one of these players that are available in the NRL? I cant. I struggle to put Walker into this category but based on some of the Knights MisManagement decisions in the past, who knows what they think of Walker?)

We already have enough backs who cant make the right decisions in defence already :(.

It could be worse. We could sign Carmont, Hall and Quinn again. Walker's defence is sloppy, but when one of your centres lets in 4 or 5 tries per week, most from missed one-on-ones, and you have two wingers who get monstered under the high ball, you're really not going to be much worse off.

At least Johns can make Walker look tremendous in attack. Not even the great halfback can compensate for Carmont's woeful form.

Wouldn't surprise me if it is him. He is certainly high maintenance, Stuart struggled to keep him in line, I can't see Hagan being able to. The only thing he has going for him is speed. I don't think he would fit in here with guys like Johns and Buderus either, in fact I could see Johns doing a Jackson with him. LOL.

Walker isnt a bad tackler (not great, just not bad), but he makes foolish decisions in defence in big games.

If he's relatively cheap (100 grand a year or something), the knights should take him. Speed is something we lack even more than poor fringe defence.

Walker is / was a class act. Its not a HUGE gamble like Carney. We need some class backs to go with Joey.

Like I said, I am not basing this call on information merely intuition. The Stephenson thing is interesting though- I am pretty sure that his step-brother (if I am on the right track) lives in Newey and his dad and rest of family just on the edge of the Hunter. Now he WOULD be an EXCELLENT signing! Thinking about it, I dont believe that our MisManagement have the foresight nor capacity to make such a great signing- I'll stick with the intuition!

Have you ever even seen Great Britain play? Carney consistently matches it with the best we have to offer. I wouldn't call him the gamble in this arrangement.

If we're releasing Hall, Quinn, and Carmont- I wouldn't mind seeing Walker in Knights' colours. He's a dickhead, and a defensive hole- but in attack, with a good halfback, he's one of the most dangerous attacking players there is. You don't get selected for QLD for no reason, after all.

... yes rocky, we do.

but we also need a winger with pace and tryscoring instinct.

I think we will get him for a steal, and who knows, Newcastle might suit him. He only started getting in lots of trouble when he went to Sydney - he was just a d!ckhead before that, and lets face it we already have d!ckheads in Newcastle, one more isn't going to make a difference.

As Oswin said, could be worse... we could sign Ben Walker....

Im disappointed in you VOR - one player is not enough reason to abandon your club, no matter who it is - especially after what we have already been through. cool down mate, I know you dont mean it.

Mac did you do psychology or law? Youre right I,m not gunna chuck in the towel and probably dont mean what I said about bailing. I would however be very disappointed if we signed Wanker (not a typo) at the expense of losing some up-and-comers. I suppose at the right price he would still be better than George or Hall etc. I,m chilled Mac but I would struggle cheering for Wanker. Ciao.

Walker would be a great buy IMO.

I haven't forgot the form he showed 3 years ago, if somehow we got him back to that form i guarantee you he will have a field day outside Johns and Gidley.

His defense isn't as bad as some people make out, he can tackle but it his is poor positional play and decision making that lets him down.

He's certainly better then the sh*t backs we currently have.

That's enough reason not to pic him. I mean carmont is our leading try scorer over the last 2 years, so he must offer something in attack like people are saying walker will. But look at the flack carmont is copping for his positional play in defence, yet you want walker. That doesn't make a lot of sense I must admit.

Paul STepehenson is a hack, absolute hack, dummy half merchant who is a poor man's version of Joel Monaghan, there's a bloke playing PL for the dogs named Jamie Frizzo who sh*ts on stepehenson.
As for Walker, he's 25times the attacking player carmont will ever be, I still remember that try he scored against us at ANZ stadium a few years back, in and away on billy peden than comes up to robbie o and another in and away, can't imagine carmont doing that. Walker is also very good at running off the inside ball, he would carve it up around Joey just like he use to do around Lockyer and Freddy.
