Wayne knows what he is doing when it comes to the media mate. I think he's earned our benefit of the doubt by now, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

If anything I subscribe to Nuffy's theory in the Bennett thread, it could well have something to do with taking the focus of the players.

Hmmm yeah that's a good point. Nothing works better in a finals series than the good old "they're out to get us" philosophy. In Wayne We Trust.

So either Wayne or Stone to leave at years end! Pretty disappointed if Bennet left because it'd go against his "loyalty" stance, Plus if this is where we are at after just on two years I'd love to see him finish off the job and have us as a powerful consistent team come 2015. But we get Stone replacing who is a brilliant coach and can possibly do just AS good.

If it's Stone leaving, Then i'll be disappointed again but I would understand! Stone deserves his chance and I'd actually like to see him coaching a team like Cowboys. He has the capabilities to Make the Cowboys a force in the comp and I'd be very happy for him. Watch this space I guess, but more importantly Lets focus on current season and last two rounds and win them both!!! YEAH BABY!!!

This may clear up the Rick Stone rumour. Also, having now watched the footage of the Bennett presser where he responded to the questions about his future I think the articles in the papers were just a beat up and nearly made up out of nothing. I did not in any way feel his responses were anything other than typical Bennett one liners. Nothing in it. That's how I read it anyway.

It's all in the wording, all the media need is something that is technically true and they can write a headline that will make the public stop and take notice. For example, yesterday one of the headlines was 'Bennett refuses to rule out Cowboys move'. Well that it technically true, as far as I am aware he didn't specifically answer a question about the Cowboys, and by proxy he also didn't rule out a move to the Cowboys. He also didn't rule out a move to 14 other NRL clubs......

And voila, the papers have their dramatic headline.

He allegedly gets a 500 k bonus just for making the finals. Given his age and the fact he has retirement not far away i cannot fathom why he would walk out two years early. Also he has specifically marked a couple of big name signings before he leaves for 2015.

I don't think he is because if he was, he wouldn't play it out in the media with his team in a prelim final. He just isn't that sort of guy.

He's doing it for a good reason as he is a calculating guy when it comes to the media and if I was to bet, I would say its because he doesn't want league journalists with nothing to write about, generating "Mullo to step up" stories.
