Now, at this stage the game is still anybodies, but until Symonds came on Australia was on top.

gilchrist has never been captain material. when he takes over from ponting he looks like he doesn't have much idea and just makes up decisions at the end of the over.

tbh we haven't had a good captain since tubby. waugh and ponting had the old "chuck the ball to mcgrath and warne and see what happens" and when one or both didn't play they struggled. shane warne was our best thinker but the media crucified him and subsequently killed any chance of him gaining the captaincy. it's going to be very interesting to see how ponting goes without warne and mcgrath

In a way yes, but there is a bloke called Hussey who bowls a LOT in 20/20 cricket in England! Surely he is a better choice than Symonds or Clarke. That is one option, and I rate Hodge a better 20/20 spinner than Clarke anyway, so thats another option!

apparently watson is too. i didnt know batting, bowling and constant injuries meant doing it all but apparently it does these days

i remember in a chappell hadlee game in chch were we (nz) chased down 320. they bring symonds on at a critical time and mccullum blasted about 4 sixes over extra cover. symonds just isnt good at bowling at the death. clarke isnt that flash either.. hussey never seems to let you guys down
