Once again, someone just ignored the overwhelming statistics over an EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME.

And like clockwork "cry me a f**king river"... I produced the facts. And they're overwhelming.

If people just want to say "boo hoo f**king Roosters" as a reply then good for them. Doesn't change the FACTS.

Put the caps lock down and back away from the keyboard Tommy. You're getting hysterical.

I'll be honest (and I hate the Roosters). I think they get penalised where other teams do not.

To be honest most of the penalties we give away are warranted and the wrong decisions in terms of penalties conceded are probably in line with the rest of the comp.

However, as others have said we just don’t receive penalties for the same things that others receive and some of them are especially blatant.

Jason, I was trying my best to remember where I read them
I can't remember if I just googled them or if someone here posted a link to a RL website

I remember being astounded when I realised we had only had one season since 1995 where we had won more penalties per game on average over a season.

If I get my computer back I might do some research to drag up the site I found the numbers

Could it have been from this site? - http://stats.rleague.com/rl/misc/penalties.html

FFS, the reason the Knights don't give away many penalties is because they're incapable of wrestling. Seriously, watch them play, they can't do it. It's one of the causes of their poor form this season. Most penalties these days are for ruck infringements and holding players down too long. You can't give away a penalty for holding down a player if you can't physically hold them down.

Compare that to the Roosters, a side that wrestles well and surely it doesn't take a genius to work out that the side that can hold the opposition down more would be the one to concede the most penalties in a match.

Roosters should only get penalties if they're warranted. They don't deserve to be given 8 just because the opposition was.

The Knights gave away a whopping 15 penalties in a game against the Storm in round 3 this year. Wonder what they were all for?

Well ... we received a whopping 3 penalties in our game vs the Dragons. Including none in the second half.

On the back of an equally whopping 4 against the Knights we need an inquiry into why the Roosters are receiving sooooo many penalties.

The losing side plays a perfect second half of football according to the merkins in pink, truly amazing. You just gotta .

Chook.

If you watched last night game the penalty count was an indication of the discipline of both sides not a conspiracy against the Roosters.

Saints had more ball = give away less penalties
Saints wrestling is inferior (less holding down of players) = give away less penalties
Saints getting back the 10m vs Roosters rushing up
JWH & Friend on your team = give away more penalties.

Makes sense to me

Better team won on the night and will continue to win if they improve their discipline.

Possession was 60-40 to saints in the first half, 3-3 penalties. Possession was 50-50 in the 2nd half, 4-0 penalties to saints. Dominating the ball had zero effect on te penalty count.

Also: it seems a prerequisite to penalise us once or twice inside the first two minutes of the game.

As Freddy mentioned on the footy show, no other team is scrutinised like we are at the start of a game because they have it in their heads that they need to set an early trend against us.

So they're basically going into games looking to penalise us at the start, regardless of whether or not it was deserved. The 2nd min penalty against Jake Friend was an absolute joke. Just a standard tackle and no other team in the comp would cop a penalty for that.

And don't get me started on the two forward pass calls... Cameron Smith throws 50 of those a game without being pulled up. That's a f**king fact.
