So I used to drive cabs for a living. One day I was driving past a school, where I saw a fight developing on the basketball courts. Needless to say, things got very heated, and two of the blokes pulled a knife on one other guy. I knew this guy was done for. I ended up being one second away from jumping out of my cab to do something, where the one guys Mum comes running down to the courts, grabs her son by the ear, and drags him away. This was hilarious to watch, and the two other guys thought so too.

At this stage of my life I was done with driving around this area of town, so I decided to change it up, and had more of a Airport to CBD run. Well my first shift at the Airport, I pull up to the cab rink, and lo and behold, it is the guy who nearly got stabbed. I was relieved to see him alive, even though he had no idea who he was. I started to explain to him the entire story, but the bastard interupted me and screamed, "Yo Homes to Bel Air."

I'll never forget this post.

I'll add some more.

- The day I got major surgery and my mum and dad were in tears petrified and I'm like the surgeon "Hurry up so they can stop crying". (They were a wreck, I was fine).
- The day my mum caused a massive scene at the hospital during my 9 day stay in there and nearly got me kicked-out.
- The day my brother broke my nose, smashed out two baby teeth and busted my lip. (Accident, or so he says).

-Hearing the news my dad passed away, early morning phone call my mum answered and I was listening to half the conversation knowing it was something bad but didn't know who.
-Finding my dog dead, who I'd had for 16 years since I was 6. He had been pretty sick for a few months and I'd said to him that morning "one way or the other Grotty". Wanting him to get better or just pass on. Wish he could've got better though.
-High school formal after party. The end of the night is a bit blurry, but earlier in the night a girl who was so amazing, yet I was a shy guy in school so never got the girls, gave me a kiss.

good

the day we got whisky, for a really shy 12 year old kid that didnt have many friends he ended up being my whole world.

the day we became premiers in Under 15's, topped off by hurling darius boyd gordon tallis like over the sideline and into the concrete dugouts they had as benches

my uni graduation, did not get given a chance of hell of finishing it when i was applied

2004 first final against the dogs, actually the entire last third of that season up until getting rorted in the prelim. Was just an awesome ride to be apart of and for once was great having a reason to be proud of where i come from that non-northerners would actually understand.

Few travel spots/activities that just stood out more than the others and were just special: fenway park, sachenhuasen, peyto lake.

Bad

Getting the phone call that whiskey just had a stroke and needs to be put down. I just collapsed in the room i was in the office here and pretty much didn't stop crying until i got another call a few hours later confirming it and didnt get to say goodye to him

Waking up in an ambulance attached to a defibulator after being dead for a few minutes

2004 prelim against the roosters, channel 9 and the nrl were getting a roosters v dogs grand final and that was final.

Seeing my kids being born, being there and being a part of it. I hope everyone gets to have this experience, there's nothing that comes close.

Also another standout memory is the night of the opening ceremony for the 2000 Olympics. I was at a mate's place tripping on acid watching the show and listening to Rage Against the Machine. f**king amazing night.

The Closing Ceremony of the 2000 Olympics stands out in my mind! I was only 15, and me and 17 year old cousin went to the city with a very large group of guys, all over 18. I just remember everyone being so happy, and united. It was truly an amazing night. With the exception of a guy basically calling me a hooker (grabbing my hand and asking "how much luv?")!!!

Feeling a massive impact above my right knee and looking down thinking ''wheres my bloody leg gone'' as another massive impact hit my left calf pretty much tearing it off from the back of the knee to the ankle. Then copping a ''wing'' to my left ankle which broke it. I didn't know it straight away but i'd been hit just above my tailbone and was exited next to my belly button. I must of spun around but do not recall it.
On the ground slightly on my right side I realised my lower right leg was underneath my butt and that your guts do really look like sausages. Then I WENT BEYOND PAIN. It's a special place believe me,you hear screaming and realise it's you but you do not know you are screaming. I had no idea I had fractured the c4 c5 in my neck and the T1 in my back or dislocated my left shoulder.
I still have my leg, stuffs me how.
