Has he trimmed up?

im not sure but it looks like he has trimmed up since he first started.

compared to his first game, he looks alot better.

against the cowboys (round 6), he was on for 22 mins, 4 runs for 20metres, 3 hitups and 17 tackles.

against the titans, played 23 mins (round 24), making 6 runs for 61 metres, 4 hitups and 16 tackles.

not that im saying this because of his stats, but interesting to look at when i thought about it.

with a good off season, he could be a standout next year.

redback could be eating his words.... again.

discuss.

im not saying the guy is a standout, but he has improved and looks alot fitter than he was when he first came over, which from what i remember, the guy ran for about 5 mins, started tiring out and giving away penalties for laying down on the tackle too long.

yesterday, he banged up a few of the manly forwards pretty good and his defense was solid.

he even fired up and wanted to go one of them.

with a good off season, we might see bigger and better things from this bloke.

well im hoping so, i like seeing a no names shine.

As long as Vave is not just another Islander cat. At least ID is starting to hurt the opposition.

Why has it taken him until round 24-25 to trim up and show a bit of fitness? Waste of money.

He hasn't been at the club 24-25 rounds, so really he did some good improvement in a short space of time. Not saying he is good though, just that his fitness development has been quite reasonable.

Rubbish. He may not have been at our club but he was at a club, the Titans, where he was a contracted player and trained the pre-season. Although by the condition he came to us in doesnt look like he did much training.

Was he injured when at the Titans?
I wondered the same thing, he came to us from an NRL club, but didnt look like he did.
I'd like to see him kept for depth purposes.
Doesnt hurt to have backup props, Snowy and Dougie are machines but it seems every other prop we have are all cursed.

Rubbish. He would have only rarely trained with the first grade squad at the Titans It's not in our control what he did training wise in QLD cup.. It's Since coming here he seems to have improved in fitness. Again I say I don't rate him but he is fitter than when he arrived, that is my only point.

well i think he has improved since he first started and if he continues to improve the way he has, he could make his way into the starting 17 next year.

Wrong again. He was a top 25 player and so would have trained with the squad every day. The contracted players dont spend all week with the feeder sides if thats where they are going to play on the weekend. Its the opposite.

Thats not to say he wasnt fit or should have been in the condition he was when he arrived.
Craig Wing trained by himself for over a year, as an example.
Donnelly is no fitter than when he arrived.
What you see is what we get.
