Kicks off off April 30th with NZ vs SL. The FINAL is on May 16th

The full draw

Australia seem to have caught up with other nations by picking specialist T20 players. The verdict is still out for Clarke in this format by some. Hopefully he can lead the way to a successfull campaign. Tait had a great ODI world cup here in the WI in 2007 when Lee was out injured. Hopefully he can bring that form to the table in this world cup. If Lee can come back to some explosive form as well, could be interesting to watch.

Australia are in group A, and a couple of tricky games if they are to qualify to the next stage

Vs Pakistan May 2
Vs Bangladesh May 5

Yeah they have. In fact last year Ch9 showed games in the second round even though Australia didn't qualify

Lets hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Positive was Lee looked to be getting back to his best, the other 2 pacemen were good. Hauritz and Christian pure crap and Watson's bowling hasn't been as effective since the IPL.

Christian should never have been in the squad IMO. Typical display from the Aussies though.

Also on another note. Can the Afghanis spring an upset? They beat Ireland in their Warm Up match.

The aussies won their latest warm up game easily against the windward islands, Paine, Christian and Hauritz played for the WI. So I'm guessing those that played for Australia will be in the team for the opening T20 game.

At least everyone had decent match practice.

Wonder if Harris would have made the side if he was with the side originally. Could have gone with the 4 prong attack.

The Afghans have nothing to be ashamed of. They held their own in my view. They seem to have the basics down pat but just lack experience against top level opposition. Underestimate them at your own peril
