And if you didn't want to do it because of your race and culture.... you should be despised and kicked out of RU..Martli said:Honestly, why would you not want to do it? It gets you fired up before the game and is part of both NZ and All Black tradition. The only reason you wouldn't do it is if you were blatantly racist, inwhich case you shouldn't be playing rugby....
Just going from what my section head was saying.... just got curious.... he's looking to retire in a few years and wants to go home...Polynesian Warrior said:Copa ! Where are going with this one mate ? The Haka is part of the NZ history . Not just the All Blacks .
But every rugby mad school has a Haka . All the rugby private schools in NZ has a 1st XV Haka and a school Haka .
Before you become a All Black . Not only you do your 1st XV , you also perform a Haka in every rugby national team in NZ .
Yeah ... it's a great tradition.Timbo said:I'd wonder why any Kiwi would refuse. It's the best psych up in the world in any sport, and it doubles as the best intimidory tool against your opposition!

Look, you're not even from NZ, and you obviously don't have a clue. Come back whe nyou can actually provide a SPECIFIC example of why someone wouldn't ant to perform the haka and we'll listent to you. There's a big difference to not really caring about it and actually having a valid reason to object.Copa said:Just going from what my section head was saying.... just got curious.... he's looking to retire in a few years and wants to go home...

And don't think that's a decent reason, unless you can cite a specific culture who would object, with reasons that aren't simple racism.
How about sharing it with us then? You've still offered no decent reason.Copa said:I did...
I also think I found my answer... It won't go down well at all.
Saying no to the haka is akin to saying "Nah, I'm not going to sing the national anthem".
Like many Australians really. Many grew up singing God Save the Queen.Tighthead said:Like the vast majority of the Australian Rugby League team?
I'm 32 and I had to sing God Save the Queen when younger before we switched ... there are a lot of folk older than me out there... not many players though.. except for the Broncos golden oldie.Thomas said:Advance Australia Fair has been sung in schools for over 20 years now.....no excuse..
