In a way, it kinda p*sses me off when coaches do that. Coach the bloody team in front of you! How would the other guys in the team feel? I don't like coaches who play favourites, which is my biggest problem with Smith in the first place.

sheens doesnt play favourite, he just said he;d like to have those 2 around him cuz u can build a team around them

sheens gets the sh*ts quite easily with any player

Fair enough, but do you think that sort of attitude would help our current crop?

All coaches play favourites one way or another, its human nature to develop preferences for certain people/players.

anyway, I dont think smithy really plays favourites as much as people make out.

But we also have some of the least forgiving fans and so it is one of the least stable positions with the most risk.

stable???..are you kidding??

Brian Smith 1997 - current
Mick Cronin 1989 - 1992 [Left on his own accord]
Ron Hilditch 1993 - 1996 as above

We didn't even sack our coach at our lean periods, infact i don't think the club has ever sacked a coach in it's history no matter how unforgiving fans have been.

how can you say it's not a stable position?

I'm not a big Sterling fan (after his playing days ofcourse).

I honestly think he jumps on the bandwagon a bit, and when the boys are down, he has a lot of negative things to say about them. I also dislike how he tips against us more often than not.

I heard a while back that the Knights wanted him to coach them?? Does anyone else remember that?

Sterlo is honest about the eels, thats all.

In any case, nobody actually knows whether he'd be a decent coach or not.

I'd rather somebody who had some pedigree as a coach.

JT gets my vote. it would provide for a pretty smooth transition within the club and players already knowing his style as well as him already serving an apprenticeship in the lower grades.

sterlo would be great to have involved in amongst the club, in any capacity. unfortunately i can't see it occuring in the near future.

another person not mentioned so far who i believe would make an awesome coach would be Matt Johns. i doubt he would leave his media gig but ......
