If not Madge, then who?

Rookie in terms of nrl experience. Some people will say coaching first grade in esl and nrl is the same. Given the quality of the games of esl i watch I'm not sure that stacks up. If we do sign Woolf or someone else who hasn't coached much or any nrl then we still need an old head to help them out.
Or you could do something crazy and rehire Potter and spend the difference on junior development. We'd end up about the same spot but at least we'd have hope of a brighter future.
Fair enough.

I prefer Flannagan.

Flanagan would seem the best choice of the choices available with Sheens in control of the club....the elephant in that room though ...and particularly if Brooks goes..is he'll have his son over here and locked into the 7 ...the last thing we would need.

I would go for Kristen Wolfe. He did a great job with Tonga and the players love him. I think they even threatened to strike if he was replaced .
He would probably attract a few quality Tongan players. It would be beneficial to the Tongan team to have as many of them as possible playing together throughout the season.
Sorry, but the last thing we need is more Polynesian players.
We have our fill.

Absolute NO to Flanagan. He doesn't deserve to be in the conversation about his antics with the peptide saga. If he becomes coach, I'll cancel my membership and refuse to follow the club until he leaves.

Someone like Ciraldo would have been great. Someone who knows how to communicate with this generation of players and knows what success looks like in the Vladys era game. Then with an old head like Sheens both advising him and fending off the wolves, could really be what we need.

My understanding though is that we reached out to him and he rejected us?

Yeah Jim, I think he turned us down. But Im 90% sure that was for one of the assistant roles. Might be different if hes offered the boss job.

Madge talking about last week and the second half of the Melbourne game.

"If we keep putting ourselves in those positions we will learn a lot from that'"

Awesome ! I can get really excited by heaps of below standard performance by how much we will learn from that. Penrith, Melbourne etc need to send some of their players to us so they can learn that stuff too because they won't get those lessons playing for their clubs.

Im now of the mind we should get rid of Madge and Brooks.

Happy for Madge to keep coaching until we find a replacement, but we should be looking now.

With Brooks gone and not resigning Tamou and Garner, the new guy should have about $1.5mln to spend in he market.

Just Madge for me....there's no denying Brooks went ok under Cleary so he has it in him. I've swung around to going hard for Ciraldo ...he understandably knocked us back as assistant coach but you would have to think he wasn't too thrilled last week to hear that Cleary wants to continue coaching over there.. Odds on he's on standby to join Gould at the dogs but you never know.

f**k it. Bring in a new coach. Clear the decks of the dead weight and start with a new coach when we have this small window if opportunity with all these good signings incoming for next year.

Its worked for the Sharks, it can work for us

I think it's some of the current signings that are the problem?

I've calmed down. Laurie was shite. Simpkin is probably not going to make it. He just has no feel for the game at all.

If Madge picks Brooks at 7 again next week that will do me. Madden at 7 Brooks 6 until Hastings is back and then give Hastings a crack at 7. Our season is done. May as well use it to see who our best halfback is...I mean it's a pretty f**king important position ffs

Take it from a Broncos supporter (because we've learned a little about this ourselves over the past 4 years), your joint needs a comprehensive cleanout, and personally Madge would be at the bottom of my list of priorities for people that should get the flick. We had Paul White and Peter Nolan stinking up the joint for years with their ignorance of the game and general indifference to on field results, culminating in the clubs first wooden spoon which White actually survived for another 6-8 months before Ben Ikin and David Donaghy finally replaced them both. We're already seeing the results of those changes at the top in the past 6 months by cutting all the dead wood loose (players and staff), signing Reynolds which was a prudent signing as well as a big one and now we're undefeated going into Round 3 and favorites to win the third.

The rot starts at the head, and any attempt to pin the Tigers current predicament on the footy department is just some rusted on dinosaurs on the board trying to protect their own asses first. Madge and his team weren't there when the Tigers were stinking it up 5 years ago. While Madge was at Souffs winning a premiership, the Tigers were finishing 13th and getting ready to knife another coach.

Bringing in Sheens to try and turn the joint around even 45 degrees is a good start (I guess), but sooner or later someone at the club is going to have to wake up and see the need for the big broom to come through the whole place. The useless board members go first, then the first job of whoever replaces them is to rebuild that playing roster. The Tigers need to become an appealing club to play at again, rather than the place the likes of Roberts signs with to protect his pokie money.
The fact we have not had a spoon has f**ked us. It would have been a catalyst for change, instead of just papering over the cracks
