Do we throw money at ricky stuart to be coach for 2013? anyone who can coach a side to beat QLD deserves credit. i know slater will be out but it would still be a massive achievement.

I know alot of you dont rate him, or think hes a merkin, but we have nice guy kearney atm and look how thats going for us....

i expect mixed replies but what does everyone think?

I wrote this in another thread.

Bring in Sticky, before someone else grabs him.

Even though I don't agree with all his team selections, what he has done for both Cronulla and NSW in regards to camaraderie, belief and passion, is totally what we need here at Parra.

Taylor is a hack and not many players would relish being coached by him at NRL level. Sticky can also attract quality players, something we haven't had at Parra since B. Smith left.

When origin ends, speculation re: Stuart will intensify. It will go into a frenzy if we keep losing. The board will try and cushion the fall with announcements and propaganda about believing in SK etc but trust me if we come last SK IS GONE.

This is the only question mark about getting rid of Kearney, it is who do we bring in. I'm certainly not Sticky's biggest fan.

He's coached at a 50% winning record this year, even if we lost game 3 it will be 33.3%... which beats 21%.

Ricky Stuart is not a great coach but when looking for a coach we need to look at what is lacking at parramatta. Brian smith brings structure at a junior level but can be a cold meddling coach
Ricky Stuart brings a heart on his sleeve, comradere but is lacking in technical nous.

IMHO we do have the talent. We do have the individuals and we do have the structure. We are incredibly short on self belief and motivation with most of the players scared to try anything lest they make a mistake.

In the final wash up, sticky might just be the man.... We have to bring back the joy of playing football to the eels. Today's defenses are broken down by add lib attack built on solid defensive structures . At the moment we have a solid defensive structure and one out boring attack. I am usually Steve Kearneys greatest fan and he seems a great bloke but football is a results based business. Whomever is at fault, the players, the coach , the fans , the weather , the board whatever... If the coach cannot get the players to perform then there has to be a parting of ways.

would rather keep kearney than bring in stuart.

He destroyed both clubs he coached & again let go of kimmorley & degois to corey freakin hughes. pretty much says it all

Despite not having been a Stuart fan, I'm thinking we should throw money at Stuart regardless of SOO game 3, and bring him in early so that he's in charge before the start of our off-season ready for 2013 onwards.

Anything to end this appalling Kearney era.

Agreed, Stuart is a complete and uttter f**kwit. People were whinging about Kearney keeping all our front rowers on the bench at the same time well Stuart did the same thing in Origin II. He's not a coaches arsehole, if we do decide to punt Kearney i really hope we just don't rush out and get the first coach available.

But but we all know that Hages is the brains behind the QLD coaching . . . should we make a tilt at Hages? It's like the Delorean in Back to the Future :sarcasm:

Hages had a win record of over 60% plus a premiership in his first two seasons in charge. Just like Sticky.

Their record speaks for itself.

Maybe they can come and be co-coaches?
