I don't see how winning or losing the series should define whether we should get him or not. The majority of the Origin games he has coached (if not all) in the past two seasons have all been very tight against the best Queensland team ever seen.

His credentials well exceed any other coach we could feasibly recruit. I feel that a man-motivator - Ricky's obvious strength - is required to turn us around, not a tactical artist. The team has lacked confidence for years and I think it happens to be the biggest issue with the team presently, not our tactics.

Stuart won his premiership in his rookie year 10 years ago with Gould pulling strings. It all ended in tears a couple of years later as the roosters punted him.

It also ended in tears at the sharks when he walked out on the club because the players wouldn't perform for him.

Is he a better coach now for these experiences? And do we take the punt and find out?

My opinion, for what it's worth, is why not? There don't seem to be a lot of options and he has to be better than what we have now.
