I had a random thought today about whether an 18 team league be more balance and was wondering what teams would be included and what would these teams look like.
How about:
1. LA Lakers
2. LA Clippers
3. New York Knicks
4. Brooklyn Nets
5. Chicago Bulls
6. Boston Celtics
7. Miami Heat
8. Dallas Mavericks
9. Houston Rockets
10. Golden State Warriors
11. Indiana Pacers
12. Portland Blazers
13. Seattle Supersonics (Bring them back...they were great fans)
14. Washington Bullets
15. Philadelphia 76ers
16. Atlanta Hawks
17. Detroit Pistons
18. San Antonio Spurs
So I've kept a couple of small market teams for balance. I've brought back a favourite in Seattle...and I've changed back the name of Washington.
Now start with the core of those teams and if you add some superstars to those teams without genuine stars...would you think 18 teams would result in equal competition...or would it be as divided as a 30 team league?
