If you could pick one player from the Sharks historical playing roster to slot into this team, who would you pick and why?

It's a question that has been on my mind for some time now.

I was going to make a poll but figured there would be too many options.

If you could select any player from the Sharks historical playing roster who would you want in this team?

Do you just pick one of the Sharks greatest players; ET, Sludge or Gall?

Do you pick a historical player for which there is the greatest gap between them and the player currently in their position?

Do you pick the best player in the position you think we're weakest?

Thoughts?

I think for me what we're missing most is leadership. A hard nut who doesn't take a backwards step and someone people will follow.

I vote for Paul Gallen.

Firstly I do think there's an enormous gap between Gall at his peak and McInnes presently. Secondly he was a great captain of the side. Thirdly he is someone when the chips are down other players will follow. Too much at the moment is falling on AFB as the leader of our pack and Gall would lighten his load and enable us to get more out of him.

Close second for me would have been Michael Ennis. Brailey's service is excellent but other than that Ennis covers him comfortably in all other attributes including drawing a penalty, leadership, niggling and direction.

Who gets your vote?

Sir Thomas Bishop for me. He wouldn't tolerate shit, leads by example, never took a backward step and knew how to guide his team around the paddock.

He didn't hesitate to drop players who f**ked up.

When he spotted a weakness he fixed it, i.e. called in Big Cliffy Watson.

Trindall to 7.
Jimmy to 6. Make him captain.
This side was 1 game away from a GF...and now have AFB.
The talent is there.
Jimmy is a winner.
He would have them rolling forward.....sheeesh, compare his runs to the Miss Hynes Turtle shuffle.

I thought Gav but we don't have the support players like Barry Russell and Jon docking to run off him.
Poor bugger would get his arm free with the ball with 12 other blokes standing 15 feet away watching.
