I'll trade you a Payne for a Lowrie

I know we desparately need props but, if we could release Payne, I would definitely go for Todd Lowrie.

On the back of the Telegraph it says that he's on $170K, currently unsigned and the Eels only offerred him $50K.

If you're a good enough lock to keep Mateo on the bench, you're definitely good enough to be in the Tigers pack!

Also, with Robson only on $35K, I'd have a crack at him for reasonable money. Although not fancy, a stalwart half back can't hurt since Sheens will almost certainly put Moltzen back to full back (and this would hopefully stop the second round of "Benji is a half back" nonsense).

Release Payne? His contract expired end of this season- he is now off contract and searching for a new home unless Teflon has resigned his favourite pet.

We need some props, in the run on side and for depth.

It would be better than spending all our cap on Tuqiri for a dozen games.

Agreed - I am not convinced any of out Under 20's props are ready for 1st grade on a regular basis - hope they prove me wrong.

We don't need Lowrie imo.

Well, we need a Lock! Lock is basically just "another back rower" the way Sheens plays it. I'd prefer one of the boys to specialise.

Lowrie has been running harder than our "ladies up front". I'd love to have a Lock with a bit of Mongrel about him. Fulton didn't really get aggressive enough. And Heighno, Payten, etc. aren't Locks imo.

We also have Flanaghan,we need props not Lowrie or Robson.

I don't see much difference between Lowrie and the other backrowers at the club already. More backrowers is not the answer.

I think you're all missing the point. I was talking about a value proposition. He's on the cheap and better than some of our others.

I'm not saying "spend all our money chasing Locks and second rowers". I just figure he's a bargain for the money.

Don't get me wrong...I would love to see a marque prop or a couple of middle-of-the-road prop signings but, let's be realistic...they haven't done it up till now so why would Sheens suddenly change tack?

Nigel Plum is cheaper and provides a much better defence option and depth option.

The Raiders have also announced they won't be resigning him.

He'll be looking for around 75-100k at the most.

Plum would be perfect......would be a great pickup....esp for that price

If we were to get him, Sheens would have to ensure that Plum plays in Back Row.

His efforts to turn a natural ball-playing lock into a prop failed massively (he did the same sh*t with Harrison as well, and to a lesser extent, Galea, Heighington and Laffranchi)

Lima to the Tigers popped its head up again today in the RLW.

Been around for too long now to dismiss it.

I'd have him. Cayless as well if we can. Add Keith, with Bryce and Todd and Skando if need be, and we'd look alot stronger imo.
