I'm not sure they even do steaks any more. They have a Chinese/Cantonese/Vietnamese restaurant in there now.

I remember in my first year of uni Steelers had a promotion on Wednesday nights for members where you could purchase five beers and a steak for 15 dollars, didnt that get a shitload of students signed up.
Did you ever do happy hour at the North 'Gong?

My dad got the great Rod Wishart to sign a Currarong Bowling Club coaster for me when i was a kid. Probably worth about $500,000 now.

HAHA!
Because Zimbabwe dollars are worth significantly less than Australian dollars!!

The Zimbabwean $ is worthless, no longer exist as a currency. When it was introduced it had a higher value than the us dollar, be the time it was abandoned the exchange rate was over US$1= Z$7.1million. So sounds about right, that Rod Wishart signature would get you 9 and a half cents in Australian currency.

I was there the day Jon Dorahy kicked a field goal to defeat the then mighty Manly Silvertails. First big win from memory.
I was there the day a young Geoff Selby tore Parra to shreds. Always wore a headband. From the sidelines you could hear Sterlo scream "watch the head band watch the headband!"
I was there the day Bob Cooper went berserk and put half the Steelers side in hospital.
Saw more losses than wins unfortunately.
1992 they were the only team that could have beaten the Broncos in the grand final. Totally ripped off in the qualifier.

I don't think they could have beaten the Broncos, who were really quite a special outfit that year. Maybe the Panthers in different circumstances could have troubled the Broncs but they didn't even make the finals. But certainly Illawarra deserved to make the decider.

I chose that day to take my young daughter to the game and this unfolded right in front of us.
