I dont know if this really needs its own thread or not, but Im really dissapointed with our club yet again and need to vent!

I have a Jersey that I have bought for my Godson's first B'day. I have had his name put on it and #1 and wanted to get the team to sign it and then one day have it framed for him. I went into the Football Office today, where once upon a time you used to be able to take stuff like that in and there was one day a week set aside where the players came in and signed a whole heap of stuff. This practice has now been stopped. Maybe people were abusing it for the use of Ebay etc, I dont know. I was told to go to the cricket game on Friday if I wanted my signatures. Whilst I am already going to that game, I really didnt wanna be buggin the boys after they had been out in the sun all day.

Was also told that there were a few open training sessions next week, but when I asked her when, she just shrugged her shoulders and said she didnt know...

So if the boys wanna have a whinge at me on Friday when I ask em to sign stuff they will be told point blankly that I didnt wish to harrass them.. The Football Office forced me to

The problem is Nikki, if one person goes in there and leaves a jumper to be signed, another 5000 might follow suit after details of that have been posted on the web.
I can sort of understand the clubs take on it, but at the same time, this is a tough business and sometimes these sorts of concessions have to be made. It would certainly be a nice offer for the club to make.
I think though, you hit the nail on the head with the E-Bay thing. There are too many unscruperlous bastards out there who would want to make a buck out of such generosity.

Best you use your contacts, and do it yourself. I'm sure the boys wouldn't mind.

I just hope they havent turned their back on the charities they used to do it for as well. Im talkin back in the days of Paul Carige, lol, but they used to line the tables with jerseys and the boys just went along and signed em all.

Just pissed off I left my air-conditioned comfort at home to drive over there..

only 5000

I thought a man of your stature would demand at least 10,000 ?

that would be to easy Nikki you have to line up in the hot sun like everybody else and earn everyone of those signatures.

just right the names of players on the jersey yourself Nikki or give it to me and i'll forge em myself, the 1 year old will be clueless to it lol and if he gives you any sh*t about it tell him he's going up for adoption or he'll be circumised.

Only a winy bitch would whinge that you want their autograph. Seriously - it's the ultimate sign of respect.

"I respect you so much I want you to sign my prized Eels memorabilia." Much respect.

What I meant to say was that I hope we have no more whiny bitches since PJ's left.

And I think the rest of them know how to add their surnames to the autograph aswell

Probably. I just dislike the way PJ whinged and moaned because he had to sign autographs for devoted fans. What's the big deal?

lol Yeah. PJ did nothing but whinge when I went to the Fan Day a few years back - this, after Hindy and Caylo were mingling with the crowd and taking photos and signing autographs hours before they were scheduled to even do so. His attitude just turned me right off, to be honest.
