Regardless of what teh Telegraph has to say about League, the fact is the Sunday sports section generally dedicates up to 5 or 6 pages (or more) on League alone and a lot of them are good stories. Union might get one page, afl maybe two pages, and even the page dedicated to sport in the bush is generally about Rugby League. They have some good scribes in the paper, unfortunately a couple seem to like to take pot shots at League, namely DUI Bec. If they did not think people wanted to here about League they would not devote so much space too it.
Two edged sword, just say enough people stopped buying the paper because they are sick of a couple of their two bit hacks sticking the boot in. New Ltd will simply stop reporting on League altogether.
How many people do you know that love the game of League are turned away because Rebecca Wilson (who is looking more like a man, a front rower at that, every time I see her) puts some BS story in her column. Not many if any. I think most people realise now that she holds very little credibility, and writes more like an old lady with dementia, rather then a new age feminist with a brain. Her drivel actually makes me more passionate in my support of the game. Whether it is a good or bad story about the game, it is all just publicity Rugby League.
So I will keep buying the Telegraph as long as they keep dedicating so much of their sport section to League. I will also continue to read the she man's column, and take enjoyment in sending her emails pointing out the hypocrisy in her columns and often blatant stupidity. I will then thank her for devoting so much of her life to sh*tting on League, because everytime I read her crap it makes me more staunch in my support of our game plus continues to publicise the game of League.
