Parramatta have a point to prove, i doubt that the team wont take games very souths and the eagles seriously. Plus the competition for spots will keep all the players working as hard as they can.

Considering last years star was 2 from 11 then one more win in the next 8 games would be a better start then 2003. :D

but seriously the draw leading into the bye in round 9 could see the Eels be in a very strong positions

Round 4: v Raiders @ Canberra (5:30pm Saturday)
Round 5: v Rabbitohs @ Parra (3:00pm Monday)
Round 6: v Manly @ Brookvale (3:00pm Sunday)
Round 7: v Sharks @ Parra (5:30pm Saturday)
Round 8: v Cowboys @ Parra (7:30pm Saturday)
Rpund 9: Bye

It would be very good and if they win this weekend quite possible to have 16 points after 9 rounds.

true, but it's vital Parra get off the a better start then last year

regardless of the draw it's easier to get a lot of points early and then hold onto a lead then it is to try and play catch up later in the year.

in 2002 Parra got a lot of wins early but then hit a bad patch with injuries later in the yera starting with Lyon's ankle in about round 12 (from memory) and then held on to finish 6th.

whereas last year they had terrible injuries at the start of the year and were = last after about 12 rounds then when Hindmarsh came back in round 14 they started to win a lot of games but only managed 9th.

Realistically we should win the three games at home. If we can pick up just one of the other two then life as we know it would be bloody good especially with the bye.

6 wins from nine games plus the bye leaves us on 14 points and pretty well entrenched in the top four I would guess.

Won the last 8 matches at Parra Stadium. Five out of six so far this year, and ten out of last 14 NRL matches. And they are in crisis??????

Come on guys that's try to be sensible though.

No offence but that was last year, and there's no point in adding up last years wins and/or losses cause that was six months ago, and we are using a different team and strategy to last year. I'm glad to see Parra winning but so far I'm still unimpressed with the performace of our team as I can see them as a far better unit.

Sorry I think I'm still trying to get over the loss of Lyon, he was one of me favourites after all.........ohhhh well as long as he is happy..

There is NO indispensable man. One mans loss is anothers opportunity.
Facts are Facts...There are statistics, statistics and damn lies.
The fact is this year, Parra had a first half shocker against the Bulldogs. Everything else has been WINNING. WINNING WINNING.
According to the Press... they were lucky to beat an understrength Knights. They DID beat THEM. The Knights were lucky to get so close. 16 against 15, remember the Eels lost Spanner Cannings early in the match just as the Knights lost Johns and the reserve grade full back. We had two first graders sidelined (Petersen/Kateravata). It is not the Eels fault if they were TOO TOUGH for the Knights. That's whaty inmtimidation is all about. If they can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen
Wait until we get our chance to play a good side with Shayne Hayne refereeing!!!!

Actually

Eels lose Cannings after 10 mins
Knights lose johns after 21 mins
Knights lose Seage after 50-60 mins

Knights have Kennedy playing injured
Eels have Wagon playing injured

Knights lose Simpson before the game
Eels lose Kat and Muzza before the game

If it was say K.Gidley and Seage getting injured rather the johns then nothing would have been said

The fact that in general the media cream their pants each time Johns takes a breath was the only reason anything was made.

Had Parra won by 70 and Johns played 73 mins before getting injured Parra still would have been lucky to win in the minds of certain sections of the media
