half a season of first grade were he played ok

he couldnt be on much and if he fails in his quest for a better contract i can think of worse players to hold on to

There are plenty of "poor guys" out there that have as much "talent" as JA that wont get a contract next year either. WHY should the fact his old man is the coach have diddly squat to do with it!!?

grapevine news is that at a recent meeting between the board and Donkey Kong is that Donkey wasnt too happy about the acquisition of merritt and felt he might be a liability and a waste of hooch. (great for the blokes moral)

The club stood firm on merritt and ando had to back down, which he was rather peeved about. However as the meeting was concluding, the board slipped ando the news that Donkey JR would have to go and throw barrels somewhere else. Imagine how ando felt about this, i hope it doesnt ruin "a very Ando xmas".

Sounds unlikely. Ando's right hand man, Theo Burgess (recruitment officer) was instrumental in getting Merritt at the club. I doubt he would have gone to all that trouble if Anderson hadn't wanted him.

I get no joy out of it. I hardley attacked or questioned a player wearing the Black, White and Blue all year... I may have commented that he wasn't up to first grade or his kicking wasn't much better the BK's anyway(which was about 68%) but alot of other posters attacked him BIG TIME as well as just about every player we have, at some time during the year.

They then questioned my loyalty due to my feelings about the Coach. :?

I hope CA lives up to their expectations next year ;-)
