Yep, I agree with both of you, Gunna and SK.

I fully agree that, PRESENTLY, the vast majority of our fans live in the Shire. I also agree that the Perth game 'experiment' looks like being a flop, based largely on what Gunna has mentioned about revenue, and also based on the fact that we would have got 18000 to the game not 12000 or thereabouts.
I'm sure that the NRL would have thrown in a cash sweetener in there somewhere, or guaranteed gate amount at the very least. Give the management some credit, they’re not complete idiots. Although some times I have my doubts :?

Finacially we must be assured of a dividend-so that's fine

but ,

why not take the game to Tamworth or Wagga or some other grass roots centre.

Great idea, but no venues with decent seating capacity...

Besides, the NRL tell us that this is what trials are for...

But what rule states that a Sharks Fan must live in Cronulla?
My guess is that more Sharks fans live in the suburb of Cronulla than the entire states of QLD and WA put together.

My point is, Sharks home games SHOULD be for Sharks fans...so why not play them in places that Sharks fans exist?
They primarily exist in the Shire, and Sydney
Taking our home games to other places will just diminish our home ground advantage

Totally agree with you on this subject SK.
As a Queenslander we get 2 games up here a year now and soon to be 3.
So if we support a Sydney based NRL team we should make our way to the shire for games and thats half the fun. cya all for the rorters game at shark park. Oh and by the way we get trial games up in the country and thats all we need.
The Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks are based in Cronulla so all home games should be played there.

I read today that we are being payed $150,000 by the NRL to play the game there.

I gather that is on top of the gate?!

I have no problems with Perth having their own team! So surly we should be helping them promote the game. If they are not promoting the game . Then why not? Money? Or are they just not that far along the road for a Perth team. Whats Gallop done to help them .? I think Steve Rodgers was over with the Perth Reds during Super Leauge wasnt he? I dont think Steve was ecpecting 12000 at the opening home games not if he looked at previos years crowds which have always been good at the opening of the season.I remamber most of the last Warriors games at shark park to have pretty good crowds. To take a home game away from the season seat holders is like a slap on the face and gives Warriors fans in Sydney one less game at one of the best grounds to watch NRL on in Sydney.

Not a fair comment. Maybe you are like the other season ticket holders that have a gripe over this but the season ticket package for this year was clearly sold as an 11 game package. People had the option not to buy if they thought 11 games was a rort.

Why?

If two teams play a game of football but no one shows up to see it, did it really take place?

 and if a tree falls in the forest with no one around to see or hear it does it make a noise???
