Getting a new ground can do so much to a club, look at Hull and Wire for instance (just ignore Huddersfield ;-) ).

Salford need this ground to improve on the great work Karl Harrison is doing.

Signed here.

Wigan were already a big club before they got the ground so they don't count. ;-)

What I mean is, it would help take Salford as a club to a different level. Before we got our new stadium we averaged less then 7000 for a home game, since the move (over 4 seasons ago) we have averaged over 11000 for a home game.

With more fans and more income, it would only help Salford make the move to become a big club.

This morning I got the following reply to an email I sent to the planning inspectorate. It was copied to about 25 other people who'd written in - would be good to get the petition numbers up before the date of the inquiry...

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990 – SECTION 77
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (INQUIRIES PROCEDURE)(ENGLAND) RULES 2000
LAND AT LAND BETWEEN MANCHESTERSHIP CANAL, & LIVERPOOL ROAD, ECCLES, SALFORD
APPLICATION BY RED CITY DEVELOPMENTS

Thank you for your letter about the above mentioned planning application. It will be taken into account before a decision is issued.

An inquiry has now been arranged. It will be held at 10:00am on 20 June 2006 at The Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford. The local inquiry is expected to last for 20 days. The Inspector currently nominated to hold the local inquiry is Mr Geoff Salter BA MRTPI. If you wish to give evidence at the inquiry you should attend on the first morning, to assist the Inspector in determining the order of appearances.*

How much good can these petitions be doing? This will be the 5th I've signed since this whole stadium idea came up.
