In and out of 8?

Generally speaking each year we see at least 4-6 of last years top 8 make it again the following year with a handful of new teams making it into the 8.

Next year there appears on paper to be a few teams that failed to make the 8 last year but would have to be "Good Things" to make it in 2008.

IMO - Roosters / StGeorge / and possibly the Sharks will all make the 8 in 2008.

Out - Dogs / Hopefully Broncos but it never happens, and IMO Souths.

I can't see the Dragons making the 8.

Out - Broncos, Souths, Dogs
In - Sharks, Roosters, Titans

In - Roosters and possibly Sharks

Out - Dogs and possibly Warriors

Other than this I can see all other top 8 teams continuing their 07 form

Sharks need to get something working in the halves(Kimmorelyless)... Kearney needs to stay fit. Should make the 8 if that happens.

Roosters were starting to gel if they keep that up next year they will make it.

I'll stick my neck out and say at the expense of Nth Qld and the Bronco's.

How the hell are St George Illawarra going to make the eight with the oldest hooker in the NRL and a new interchange system that makes him an automatic liability?

I don't see Manly reaching the lofty heights of grand finalist again but they will be around 5th or 6th.

The Dogs seem like the team to drop out and possibly the Warriors.

I can't say the Sharks will make it because they continue to disappoint on ever level. Newcastle may come back into contention with a very strong pack but they have no outside backs.

Still too early for me to say but I think the Tigers are my pick for the spoon.

Nth Qld will be a top four side again IMO, with O'Donnell back, Burns in at five eighth and Harris in the centres. They look stronger next year than they were this year.

They've got Rangi Chase, Ben Ellis, Stuart Webb, and Tony Caine....

Plenty of decent hookers. Woolford won't last till round 10.

Too tough to call a lot of them tbh.

I really dont think St George will make it. Making the 8 next year will mean week in and week out highly consistent performances and they have yet to show they can do that in any way over the last 9 years.

Manly will struggle without Monaghan but will still make it i think. Brisbane will make it too, just. I think the bulldogs will struggle to get there although any side with SBW in it can win anything. Souths might come back to the field a little, their side really doesnt stand out to me as being better than a number of clubs so if they dont get their head around it they might miss out.

One thing is for sure none of this years top 8 are a garauntee of making it, not even melbourne.
