Sad news to wake up to and find Doris Day had passed away, as The Mad Hatter said, she was one classy dame. Was in Carmel in 2011 and visited her hotel and had a glass of Mumm champagne there, there was a great pic of her with Joan Fontaine, Clint Eastwood, Chevvy Chase and Paul Anka at the bar.
I remember my mum [and sometimes me with her] watching The Doris Day show on tv with her classic opening of Que Sera

RIP Doris.

Peggy Lipton, star of The Mod Squad has passed away from cancer aged 72, she also starred in Twin Peaks but I only remember her from The Mod Squad back in the late 60s and early 70s.
One of her children was Rashida Jones who was on The Office (US) and Parks & Rec.

Here is a Beach Boys clip of Cali Dreaming featuring a montage of Peggy Lipton images.

What few people know is that, in the NBA, when the Lakers moved from Minneapolis to Los Angeles in the 1960s, Doris Day was one of their first really "big name" supporters. She would often be found sitting court side, ala Jack Nicholson.

Bob Hawke.

As a child without political sway, Bob was it.

Synonymous with the decade of my childhood like ALF, ET (player and movie), Max Headroom and Men At Work, or AUSTRALIA II, I will now reminisce.

RIP Bob Hawke.

And just for a laugh.

Need more of that satire.

Australia’s most respected movie reviewer has passed away RIP Bill Collins
84 years old, that's a fair dig. He was probably the first dedicated movie critic/reviewer I ever saw growing up when the old man would watch his Sunday morning news shows. From memory his yardstick was always Gone With The Wind, it seemed like it would get a mention in just about every review he did.

Ironic that his wife's name is Joan, and he actually once went to lunch with his wife Joan Collins and the actress Joan Collins.

RIP

They showed the two Joans together on the ABC news, also laughed when Bill asked Joan Collins whether she liked working with Bette Davis in The Virgin Queen and Joan said no.

MAD Magazine has folded-in.

Formerly of NYC; latterly Los Angeles.

Battled valiantly to the end. Will be sorely missed by the usual gang of idiots.

MAD was 67 years of age.

Out of respect, please take a minute's portzebie.

You could probably call her one of the very first celebrity chefs but was also a very much loved Australian icon and author of many great cook books, Margaret Fulton has passed away aged 94.
