Inconsistent Suspensions

As a Warriors fan, the 7 weeks Charlie Gubb got this past season was very harsh (given there was no onfield penalty, and it was the most innocuous of shoulder charges, more a standard part of a group tackle for a rampaging forward off the kickoff).

Anthony Minichiello against Canberra in 2012. Nearly takes Dugan's head off with an elbow, gets sent off, but is free to play his 250th game the following week because he was apparently charged with the wrong offence.

Probably the one that erks me the most is end of season suspensions

If you get suspended for 4 games in Rd25 or 26 the NRL says if you are international player, international matches don't count

Thus making a 4 game suspension onto a 9 or 10 match suspension

Too many examples here

Tyson Frizzel and Cam Smith's ref touches.

The Tyson Frizzel one was beyond ridiculous. Of all the inane, moronic decisions ever concluded this was the worst. The referee moved towards him and he placed his hand on the guys back to make sure he didn't back in further and cop a wallop. It was totally instinctive.

A suspension for ensuring care of a referee was my read on that one. Brilliant.

There is nothing in Dugan's head to damage - so what could you charge Mini with?
Is making contact with a lump of dumb in the rule book?

Rep games have never counted.

Conversly, the two sanctioned NRL trial games do. Which effectively means that any end of year suspension is 2 games less than a mid season one.

Trials don't count against suspension anymore.

If a player is suspended on a grade-one or grade-two penalty, they can play in the trials while suspended, but if they are serving any higher-grade penalty, they can’t play trials while suspended.
