India Refuse Decision Review System

Does anyone think the reason Indians are against it is because they are taught to play with the bat behind the pad against spin from when they are children to throw enough doubt into the umpires mind that it was bat first when they defend spin?

Indians just seem to play spin that way and with the use of hotspot and slow motion and all those goodies it would show up that technique.

I actually think its that they think umpires will favour them more so. They way they got rid of Bucknor will be on the back of most umpires minds, its a safer bet of keeping your job, especially officiating indian games. Very similar to how a couple of umpires no balled Murali, other umpires just took the safer option

I hope there are some absolutely rank decisions go against them.

Particularly if India's number 11 has been given out to an absolute howler in the final few overs of the 4th test, and the loss has resulted in Australia winning the series.

That'll learn them!

woouldn't umpires that do games in the IPL also be paid well by the BCCI?

it's not run by the ICC so i imagine so

Under new rules, the DRS system will require the approval of both teams in a series.

Does that mean we can't use it either? If so WTF and shoot the guy that brought in that new rule.

To me, this is deal breaking stuff - India probably would have boycotted the tour if they were forced to use DRS. And the ICC have basically said, OK, we'll give you what you want because no tour will inevitably mean a loss of revenue, ratings, etc. on the sub-continent.

Imagine if any other country tried to do this - I don't think the ICC would be as accomodating.
