India vs the Windies

He was a reasonably up-tempo batsmen at u/19 levels but in his approach since debuting in test cricket has been to nudge and nurdle. He'll develop a better array of shots as he gets more comfortable at this level. Although he doesn't have the finesse of Bravo or Barath, he has easily the best temperament of any of the youngsters.

It's how he played in the WI domestic 4 day comp last year as well. The kid will only get better and better as he gets older and he doesn't play any other form of cricket at this stage so that will also benefit him in the longer format.

I'm sad that I haven't been able to watch much of this match, but it appears to have been quite the match so far, on an Indian wicket no less.

I just want to be done with other commitments and be able to dedicate all the test cricket that's happening the attention it deserves.

Disgraceful that Gayle and the board can't work out their differences. I'm really hoping that the windies can climb again.

How India were rated the number 1 test team continues to amaze me. They're 4th at best.

India pay absolutely no respect to the bowlers and they got knocked over cheaply because of it.

Wouldn't suprise me to see India fall to 7th/8th or 9th in the Test rankings due to there over obsession with ODI and T20 cricket.

C'mon Windies!! Enjoying all the test cricket. So many dimensions to the game which is missing in limited overs. 134-8, if they can somehow get 200 that would put WI in control.

This is a great test match.

Sammy played a good knock for 42 and now Rampul is hitting runs.

commentator before "He's picked the gap" Yeha easy to pick the gap when you smack it for 6.

9/174, lead 269

I agree and India really struggling to say they are the No 1 ranked team.

Big difference in depth tho, if Johnny Brave dont fire, Windies dont fire.

While the performance of the youngsters is promising, the wicket is clearly favourable for batting. Anything less than 500 would've been a mediocre score on this wicket. It seems that the curator prepared a dead pitch to give Sachin the best possible chance of scoring his one-hundredth hundred in front of his home crowd. The most likely outcome from here is that India will score 600 and the game will peter out in to a tame draw leaving nobody satisfied. These type of wickets will be the death of test cricket.

I like Sachin but to see the look of disbelief on everyone in the crowd and to hear the pure silence when he was dismissed for 94 was great TV.

I want his hundredth international century to come in a limited overs international so the whole event can be an anti climax and so people remember that limited overs matches are included in this century of centuries to the great SRT thing.

It's still an impressive feat, but I think the over 50 test centuries part is by far the most impressive part of it (even if he plays the majority of his games in the sub-continent)

looks like he'll have to wait till he gets to Australia to make his 100th 100
