I agree he had some disappointing returns earlier but he has bowled well at the end of last season and in his last 3 games, Aust A included.

Tall left arm 140ks and can swing the ball is a good formula but he has to turn that formula into consistent figures but he's still pretty young and got alot of cricket in front of him.

He is a potential gun no doubt about it. I'd have Faulkner in ahead of him at present though. Faulkner would be perfect at number 8.

Not so crazy given experience that's already been stripped from the side.

Yeah. Haddin & Ponting are certain to play now. At least Johnson's gone so that's a postive. I wanted Watson not to open (Seems incapable of the big 100's) although his bowling will be missed.

wonder if they will look for an all rounder or just revert back to a conventional line up

If we are picking on recent form we should pick Jackson Bird.

The difference is Starc was in the Australian ODI team when he got hurt. He was no mug. He got wickets in the Shield & ODI Cup just played at Gabba. Bowled decent for A. So he's back to how he was pre-injury when he was 1 of the top bowlers

Watched him bowl??? Very erratic but potential for sure.

I get the feeling that Starc will play and Cutting will be released to play for Qld.

1. Starc does bowl with the new ball.
2. Starc is left handed.
3. Starc is a tall dark haired left arm quick named Mitchell and the only time we didn't have one of them in the test side in the last 5 years we lost by an innings at Adelaide.
4. Starc is from NSW so all the haterz wouldn't be able to get their full quota of NSW hate if he didn't play.
5. Starc usually plays in long sleeves so you can pretend that his arm is covered in tatts.
6. Did I mention he was a tall dark haired left arm quick named Mitchell that reminds people of someone else?
7. Starc can get a bag full and bowl tight, but is more likely to spray it around and go for plenty.

Cutting will play and if he doesn't do something special will be back in the domestic scene straight after. I am leaning towards Pattinson missing out TBH. The selectors keep saying how well both Starc and Cutting bowl at the Gabba.

Shittle should be the one to miss out but won't, Pattinson should get a the nod and they'll prob want the left armer so Cutting will be the unlucky bowler.
