Injury Update

Panthers outside back George Jennings will spend some time on the sideline after suffering a shoulder injury in last week's trial win against the Bulldogs.

The 22-year-old has been diagnosed with an AC joint injury which will put him out of action for up to four weeks.

Panthers centre Dean Whare will join Jennings in the rehab group after suffering a mild calf strain against the Dogs. The Kiwi international will sit out this weekend's trial game against Parramatta in the hope of being fit to take the field in Round 1.

Meanwhile hooker Sione Katoa, who copped a grade two MCL injury at the Auckland Nines, is continuing his rehab and targeting a return to NRL action in Round 3.

Good news regarding injuries for a change. 4 weeks being the worst is nothing and the only player from our top 17 in doubt is Whare who will likely be fit. :D

Was expecting the worse after the wretched time we have had with them. This is great news. 2016 may be a decent year.

hopefully George plays more games than he misses this season, would love to see what he can do in the NRL.

Gennings should obviously be first pick for a wing if Moylan/DWZ shift. If that happens though and Gennings is injured, who do you think we go with.
For mine it's Rennings, otherwise Hiku goes to the wing and Blake/Rennings play centre.

Hiku wing. Blake centre is my preference

Yeah Rennings was worse than Waqa on the wing when he played there last season.

Big round of applause for our strength and conditioning team! Sack each and every one of the bums if we have a year even half as bad as last year injury wise

Hiku or DWZ better be fullback and not Will Smith. Hopefully Hiku kills it and puts pressure on the coach to bring Moylan back as a half and leaves a spot for Blake at centre.

Injuries happen!!!!! Chill out guys.

Makes 'Hooks' job much easier now.

D.W.Z straight into the number 1 position and has four weeks to deliver the goods. Not such a bad thing.

Hiku to the wing which frees up centre position for Waqa Blake who appears to be the form person for that position in any event.

Assuming Whare will overcome his minor strain he slots into the other centre position.

There all good. That's the 1 - 5 positions sorted.

no matter how good moylan usually is seeing he was playing with it in the trial v parra it explains his rusty performance so probably good if he misses out if he is injured

Sure it is easily solved right now. But this year is shaping up to be injury plagued again. In 2 trials and the 9s we have already picked up a chunk of injuries despite lower intensity and minutes than NRL matches. Players in our jersey tend to be injury prone.

Confirmed t'was the "tackle" that Greg Eastwood spannered on Moylan from the trial V Dogs.

He'll be a marked man when we play the Dogs this year.
