Any word on Kikau?
Any word on Kikau?
From the press conference apparently the doctors think it was a bad cork right above his knee, and thankfully don’t think it is anything structural. Apparently still in pain in the dressing room.
Have to wait and see the outcome of scans I suspect to confirm.
Only a cork? Seeing a big guy like him in that sort of pain had me convinced it was season ending
What a bloody season for injuries. FMD.
At least we know how Luai will get game time now.
Oh shit. That must have been the reason why he was benched on Friday night near the end of the game.
You know what I think is going to happen unfortunately. I think Peach will go into the centres and Whare will go to full back. I don't want that to happen but I think it will.
Caleb Aekins in the centres, Jerome Luai at fullback. Tyrone Peachey could play given that he would only play limited minutes.I was thinking there was a good chance that we would rest Maloney, Cleary and Peach for the game against the Sharks. I think it is far more likely that Hook would rest all three, than it would be to allow one of them to play and rest the others.
With the injury to DWZ, it is now pretty unclear how it will all work.
Assuming we do rest all the origin players, if Whare goes to fullback, you could keep Luai and May in the halves, but would have to put someone else in the centres (Yeo or CHN perhaps?). Another option, and the one I prefer, is to leave Luai and May in the halves, leave Whare and Blake in the centres, and play Aekins at fullback.
Against the Broncos, with all the origin players back, I assume Whare will go to fullback and Peach into the centres, with May and Luai dropping out of the side.
It is going to mean another three weeks of disrupted preparation in any event.
