Did it at an indigenous tournament didn't even make pre-season.

Miller-Stephen’s injury is said to have occurred at an Indigenous tournament in Queensland and will now cost the youngster at a crucial time in his development.

Boxing matches...Indigenous Tournaments...who knows what else.
These players are contracted to the club and should not be involved in anything that could jeopardise their health whilst under contract. Is the club paying for his rehabilitation? That expense should be covered by the Indigenous Tournament's insurance, not the Eels.

I agree it's a joke.

Tyrell Sloan did a bad injury as well at the koori knockout

The dragons are filthy over it.

It basically should be a breach of contract if the club hasn't agreed to you playing in these tournaments and you have got yourself injured in it.

I’m sure they have agreed, and how could they not? You have to assume that allowing the player to earn money outside the club is in the interests of the club. Likewise representing their nation or ethnic heritage. Disallowing these can make recruitment/retention more difficult.

imagine if souths had to tell half their squad including Trell that they're no longer allowed to play the Koori KO at the end of the season?

I'm still a fan of having Origin series played as stand alone rounds (with other various pacific rep games, to met television requirements) - maybe on three consecutive weekends at the mid point of the season.

We know that will never happen... Wednesday night prime time makes the broadcaster and NRL too much money. They've already scrapped the 1 game Sunday night Origin experiment that was in place a couple of years ago because it impacted ratings and revenue...

Dead rubbers are fkn bullsh#t...players should be allowed to play for their clubs prior..it's a dead rubber...who cares...
Select extended squads for these pointless games...if we had rcg, guth and Moses against the warriors we probably win.
