from what I remember the crew reported the faces would pop up a few times a day and were 10+feet big in the water

The people who actually think they are clever when saying "who took da picture then LOL!" about this photo are idiots.

Putting aside the fact that it is not a photo of the world's oldest camera, even if it were there nowhere in that picture that claims the photo was taken on the day it was built.
