Interesting results in the EPL

Some interesting results in the latest round of EPL matches...

Clearly the most heartbreaking of these was Liverpool's loss on the Riverside, bringing a sad end to a promising unbeaten run to this point of the premiership. I can't say that Middlesborough didn't deserve the result though, as they took it up to the Reds all day and made most of the play.

No doubt Pepe would have been creaming himself over Chelsea's performance! Far too good in the end analysis and it would seem that the Blues look an excellent chance of hanging on to third spot and a place in the Champions League. Unlikely to go higher though.

Fab result for Manchester City who outgunned the much loathed Manny U for three quarters of the match. I think City will draw enormous confidence from this and will be hard to stop from here-on-in. I'm wondering when the FA is going to finally crack down on Van Nistleroy for his constant swan dives near (or in) the opposition penalty area??!! Players from other clubs have been drawing yellow for efforts that haven't been a tissue on the Dutchman's theatrics, but he is an Old Trafford boy after all, I suppose. Mind you, I don't think Manny U is all that shabby, although they should be worried about Barthez's diminishing form in goal, to say nothing of the inherent fragility apparent in its defensive line. Very susceptible to both pace and strength the devils and at lengthening odds to claim any silverware this season.

Arsenal are back, alas, and cannot be beaten for the premiership on that form. Fair dinkum, I loathe the arrogant buggers, but they really could have won 12-1 against the Magpies on that style of play. Certainly the most attacking, inventive and exciting team ever to grace the Premier League, but one has to wish 'em the worst regardless, if for no other reason than Wenger being their manager!

The only other side I want to mention here is Everton. Exciting times on the Merseyside for the team in blue and I'm quite thankful that Liverpool won't have to worry about another Derby with 'em for sometime yet.

Bugger the Borough, but its always a good round regardless so long as Manny U gets rolled...

Aren't you a Liverpool man these days ;)

I agree with you wholeheartedly about the idea of having video refs to look at swan dives and the like. Unfortunately that would mean paying people to do the job, and European Football only seems to have money to spare for footballer's grossly high wages these days...

Not sure about Leeds... They went oaky, but lets face it, West Ham were bad beyond Geln Roeder's most nightmarish imagination. Does he still have his job?

onething about the epl is the lack of draws this season,i've always loved backing the draw especiallygiven itusually pays between $3.00-$3.70 at the tab.

my tips are suffering as a result in oztips, please bring back the dour 0-0 draw, away teams in the past were content to have a defensive team plan,i guess the 3 points for a win has something to do with it.
