According to a interview IRL Chief Troy Grant gave and was reported by love rugby league in January, a International Calendar was set to be released mid year. So, I’d like to think we will see something in the next couple of weeks..

Apparently the Calendar was to extend right through to 2032 and was to agreed by ALL (Yeh, we’re looking at you ARLC/NRL) Anyone got any gods/rumours/inside knowledge?

Was there supposed to be a Kangaroo or Lions tour in ‘23?

Why or why did the powers that be get rid of the 4nations?

I really liked that concept of end of season tournament and thought it had the potential to be really huge for international RL with it being alternated between Europe and Australasia.

Staged in Europe.
England, France, NZ and Australia.

Staged in australasia.
Australia, NZ, Tonga and England.

No, simple 5 rounds of 3 games each weekend

Final (Top 2) on last weekend of Nov

Means it starts 3rd weekend Oct

6 teams might be Oz, NZ, England, France, Tonga, Fiji
Either works for me as long as we get some fu#king international RL!!!

I like the idea of pools because you could have England in 1 pool and France in the other when the tournament is held in Europe and Australia in 1 pool and NZ in the other when the tournament is held down under.

My thoughts are you dont want teams not playing games if they have a bye

So you would go to 2 pools of 4 with a SF and then F round

But now your starting to look like the 16 team RLWC

But in all cases you have 6 weekends in the Oct-Nov period

Where the biggest IRL game should be on the last weekend of Nov

I’d personally start off with 4nations then build it up from there.

don’t want to run before you learn how to walk.

We have all been waiting for the international rugby league calendar since the dawn of time… I don’t expect it to land any time soon

There's supposed to be another world cup nines in Australia next year but no news if its happening, I guess it will be part of this schedule if it is.

I like 4 nations as well and should be two tiers of it played at same time but opposite continents. the winner of tier 2 going up to tier 1 in the following series and loser of tier 1 going down to tier 2.
If you wanted to get ambitious you could add in a tier 3 four nations as well with Cook Islands, Wales, USA and Lebanon.

Tier 1
England
Australia
NZ
Tonga

Tier 2
PNG
Samoa
France
Fiji

Rotate years between
Yr1 RLWC
Yr 2 Four nations (tier 1&2 comps)
Yr 3 Southern Hemi cup and European cup
Yr 4 RL 9's WC & Ashes Tour (plus Pacific Tri nations)
