I think Ropati often demonstrate the same defensive ineptitude as Brown. He seemed to tidy it up a few seasons back, but it seems to have crept back into his game. Happy to be proved wrong.

Well Saturday's game was an example of Ropati defending well. Bluey seems to have moved him infield slightly, which really worked.

Of course, this is against the Titans... minus Idris and Champion.

I think the Roosters game will show where JRo is really at.

Carney/Leilua shouldn't be too much for them to handle, should it? The other side is the danger.

Carney is a beast! I really rate the guy. He's built like a truck.

But he didn't play yesterday, so I guess Aubusson will be up against JRo.

Perrett and SKD vs Tupou and Henry/Hurrell is terrifying.

I'd rather have Henry/Tupou marking SKD/Perrett than Ropati/Vatuvei

I think this week Rossters will play TauTau moga. Watch this guy, he is a fricken animal. If he starts at centre and Benry is marking him he will make Benry his bitch. Mark my words

Not sure if trolling or just a fail.

 FFS, do you follow the game , or what ?

SKD gets injured, Perrett's game is crap.

Shut down SKD, Perrett gets no ball.

They are a very good combination but when one is/goes missing, the other is pretty much useless.

Tautau is a beast, would like to see him and Konrad one on one. Hurrell will probably get owned as much as Benry on D but atleast he offers something in attack.

If you shut down any centre the winger is fairly useless o_O

Our centres don't know how to pass the ball and look how crap our wings have been so far.

And yeah, I know Manus scored a few and JRo is his centre, but it's been Nobby throwing him the passes cutting straight past Wops.

Have our wingers been that crap? I thought Tupou had a top game against the Eels and Manu has been excellent after round 1.

Yep, I thought our wingers have been okay, Manu seemed to get his really bad game out the way and Tupou's just Mr Solid really, he's kind of like service in a shop- Never gets credit for good, but if bad the books thrown at him! But generally he's reliable and bascially does what it say on the tin.

Ok, so maybe crap isn't quite right. They've done ok considering the 'centres' we roll with.

I get so jealous of teams with proper centres who actually set up their wingers. I think we could get so much more value out of our wingers if we just had some centres who could pass the ball. How many times have we seen ours wingers in space that wasn't created by a cut out ball?

because our centres have been 2nd rowers filling in. 2nd rowers are defensive and will hang onto the ball. Mannering, Sharkie, Benry etc.

The only centres we,ve had recently who will throw a decent pass is JRo and Berrigan. Tatey was a hogger and Hurrell its too early to say.

On the bright side we have better cover of the centre positions than we did last year.

Konnie is still WIP and I thought that due to his greenness we'd be seeing him later in the season, but I see the rationale and have been happy with him being there. The fitness is obviously one of the things he needs to improve on, then reading the defensive game better. I think it will all come in time.

JBro was awful in his first game back, but again will get better. For mine Inu would give better results for now.

Benry has more speed than Brown and if we have to squeeze a forward into the centres he'd be it and is showing some signs of that.

So I see three options are all superior to last year (and which screams the question as to why Cleary was so stubborn about keeping Inu on the outer for so long back then), and all these options have considerable prospects for further improvement.

And yes our wings seem alrightish too.

Are we still hand-wringing a bit too much over the woes we experienced last year?

The only downer here is that we're all talking it up on the back of a win against the Titans who really didn't ask that many questions of us. I expect we'll be able to make far clearer and better opinioned judgement after the next few games.
