The kid can't win.
He smiles, he gets dropped.
He looks bored, he gets dropped.
We've been through this so many times.
Put him in the NSW cup and he will look disinterested.
Put him in first grade and he will be your best centre and do freakish things that get you to Grand Finals.
These were my thoughts too. One try was scored down his channel, but that was less him than the markers completely failing to do their job.I watched the game and thought Inu went well.
He gave a lovely pass to set up Fish's first try. His hands throughout, on a wet day, were exceptional.
this is a repeat post, but here we go anyway:
Just out of interest, here are Jro's stats for the weekend:
Minutes 80
Runs 14
Metres 136 (second only to Vatuvei)
Try Assists (counted as 0 but he actually passed to Taylor for his try)
Tackle Breaks 3
Tackles 20
One on one 7 (by far the most in the team)
Missed 1
Line Breaks 1
Errors 1
Penalties 2
...take out the penalties, one of which was dodgy as, and this is a damn fine centre's game. Considering he is still on his way back from a season ending injury, what else could you ask for? Jeez.
Inu at his best > Ropati at his best.
Simple as that.
Actually, no.
Ropati has played 10 tests for the Kiwis, Inu has played 4. This suggests to me that Ropati at his best is probably quite a lot better than Inu.
uhm...
Henry was better than Ropati on the weekend. Stats don't always tell the full story.
Exactly  I was putting as much logic into my argument as OP did his.
Henry was "very safe" ie, he didn't do anything wrong. He also didn't really do anything at all. He made 20 tackles, which is good. He made dick all metres and didn't feature in any other attacking stats whatsoever. So yeah, he played a tacklebot game in the centre jersey - could be worse. But it'd be nice if he made some metres, or had a tackle break, or an offload, or a line break or something.
When we were 6-0 up and the Titans were hot on attack, he put a huge tackle on Minichello (I think), dislodging the ball. I thought that was 'right'
Also, in a season where we have been starting the second halves poorly, we were on our goal line and Henry pulled off a try saver.
There was a lot to like about Henry's game on the weekend.
