Inzy wants six day Tests

Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has called for six-day Test matches after nearly 60 overs were lost to light in the first Test against West Indies.
Pakistan won in four days in Lahore but Inzamam said: "It's time that we should start playing six-day Test matches in those cities where the sun sets early."
Last year in Pakistan, the mandated 90 overs were impossible in 20 successive days against England and India.
Promises to make a case to the world governing body were not followed up.
Shaharyar Khan, former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, last year suggested six-day Tests but the matter was never discussed officially by the International Cricket Council.
Only an hour's play was possible in the last session on all the four days of the first Test of Pakistan's domestic season in Lahore, which the hosts won by nine wickets on Tuesday.
Even though the start was moved 30 minutes earlier, extending the first session to 2 1/2 hours, there was not enough time to get the scheduled 90 overs.
"If we play a six-day Test match with 75-overs-a-day during the winter season, it won't put pressure on the teams and it will be good for cricket," Inzamam said.

"Unless the Test matches are result-oriented, it's difficult to pull crowds at stadiums." The second Test of the series begins in Inzamam's hometown Multan on Sunday, with the third starting in Karachi - a more southerly city where light should be less of a problem - on 27 November.

Makes sense to me. I've always thought a sixth day should be put aside in all Tests anyway as a standby for bad weather.

yeah I'd agree

I find it annoying how an international sport can be played for 5 days and still have no result

some countries even play to get no result

what makes it worse over there, it starts to get dark at around 4:30 PM

theres 2 other options as well, not sure what we think about these??

1.

Start the test in those countries at 9.00am

9.00am-11.00am
11.40am-1.40pm
2.00pm-4.00pm

I have no problem with that, if you can be there at 10am, you can be there at 9am

2.

Use lighting if required like in ODI  , if it guarantees getting 90 overs in per day, its better value for the crowd, knowing full well they will get maximum value (other than if if rains)

Warne - on his wife, and with drugs...

Warne's personal life doesn't concern me. His actions on the cricket feild are definately worthy of champion status.

You can not prove that Warne took a performance enhancing substance.

 he was banned for a year for taking a prohibited substance...

I don't need to prove anything

He's a champion bowler, no doubt...

Cocaine is also a prohibited substance. Doesn't mean its a performance enhancer.

There is no evidence Warne cheated.

That's because he didn't.

He did take a banned substance though and paid the price with a 12-month ban.

To call him a cheat is harsh.

Moreover, at least he did his time unlike some who have the standard "racism" defence to get them out of trouble.

Yeah well the so called Super Test was suppose to be a 6 dayer. only went about 4. Main reason for it being a 6 dayer was to maximise the chance of a result. Though with being able to make up for lost time to a degree and ablilty to use floodlights in test matches, Drawn games are few and far between. So it aint broke Inzy. Dont fix it
