I recently heard that the Ultimate Frisbee federation has been granted full recognition by the IOC and it got me wondering where the RLIF is at.
Last I read the RLIF were trying to stage a 9's comp alongside the CommGames in 2018 with a view to becoming a medal sport in 2022. The article (from Aug 2014) says it'll be decided in Dec this year but has anyone got any more up-to-date info on this?
It just seems ridiculous that the game is in this situation, whatever the reason. The first frisbee was only invented post-WW2 ffs.
We shouldn't have to wait a decade+ just have the IOC et al recognise that RL is a sport...
