Is Adam Reynolds On The Outer At The South Sydney Rabbitohs?

Andrew Proszenko has an interesting article in the Sydney Morning Herald today that suggests that South Sydney may be willing to give halfback Adam Reynolds an early release from his contract after signing QLD Cup player Cody Walker.
It would be a huge call on South Sydney’s behalf but it is clear the club is stockpiling halfbacks, something you wouldn’t think they would be doing if they were completely convinced that Reynolds was the player to lead them to a Premiership.
Reynolds form has been a little frustrating over the last year and a half. I commented earlier this year that his game has taken a bit of a step backwards from where he was last year. While he showed a lot of promise in his first season his game hasn’t really kicked on the way you would have hoped for.
If South Sydney were to give Reynolds an early release though, I think he would find himself in big demand at other clubs. He is still only a young player and I’m sure plenty of teams would be willing to take the gamble that a change of scenery would be the kick along his career needed.
Still, it would be a very big call by South Sydney at this stage. I’d be
shocked if they released him from his contract early to join another club.

rubbish reporting from a lazy journo.

I believe The journo had no stories so picked up some troll comments in a Souths forums and repeated rubbish speculation with no foundation..His own comment that Souths will of course reject this speculation raises the question. Where did the speculation come from , if not Souths?
A forum troll , that is where.

Strong mail around that Reynolds is definitely on the outer. His market value is high and well worth being shopped about to retain some good kids and the recent Cody Walker signing. In the past few seasons he has been injured at the business end and his legs aren't the best

You can't just shop him around to the highest bidder and keep the money????

Can't imagine that we would set ourselves up to go into next season with two inexperienced halves.

Only if he plays left side but keary can play both sides and is the vastly better general.

Definitely agree, you have a good idea about how they both play.

The bad thing is that Sutton, Reynolds and Keary all dominate on the left side.

Need to start to not just allow them to play on their preferred side but also to explore the other side of the field.

Hopefully this happens and hopefully Reynold's game improves.

You realise he hasn't missed a game since his debut right?

It happened once.

The Reynolds rumour has been around for a while. There is a lot to like about Reynolds. He is a tough defender and rarely misses tackles. Combines well in defence with Dylan Walker and his goal kicking is well above average. He is still only 23yrs old and learning the game and I believe is a work in progress. The one thing he lacks is pace over 10-15 metres and general spark in attack. Let's not forget he overcome a serious knee injury early in his career.
His kicking options on the last tackle need improving. He has attempted to run the ball more this year but he needs to improve on when he runs the ball.
Keary is an exciting prospect and was looking forward to how he would have gone with Reynolds for an extended period.
Re right side attack, don't forget that Stewart is a specialist on this side of the ruck and that will alleviate some pressure on the halves next year.
I think it is a little short sighted and premature in getting rid of Reynolds. It would mean starting all over again with a young inexperience combination of possibly Keary/Walker or Keary/Sutton unless Souths will be making a play for Cherry-Evans who is off contract this year??
